I don't think I mentioned pick 2 changing hands. I think an end of first round pick would be appropriate but nothing more than that.
I dont think carlton are letting him go for an end of 1st round. Likely gets you about the 28th best player in this pool

Think the pick would need to be close to 10 and then with a pick 30 attached aswell imo

You don't need players to help you win now. You need players to drive standards and lead.

One of your captains is out the door and the other isn't a captains arseh*le. Harley needs help, and the only bloke who can help him is very injured all of the time.

sure. 2nd rounder and they can come. Not pick 2. pick 2 would prove tempting to clubs to throw players at west coast. not 31 year olds.

Sam Mitchell came with steak knife picks. that should be a good indicator of how much 31 year olds are worth.

I would agree that Carlton would want more as he is valuable to them. but he will be 31 at early/mid next year. he is falling off the cliff.

you can't buy yesterdays returns with todays money.

Of all the established stars 30 or over being mooted, Cripps has plenty of experience doing the hard yards in teams that suck. He was AA in 2018 as a 23 year old in a team that won 2 games.

Would be an incredible pick up at the right price.
yeah a 23 year old Cripps.

but he is closer to 32. lets not look at what he did in his youth. what does he offer now as a slow declining footballer?

All BF bullshit for now

Correct.

As far as I can see this hasn’t been mentioned anywhere.

The only reason it exists is because someone on a club board has said they’re ITK and ran with it.

If there’s any credible info anywhere we can continue the discussion.

Until then, as per board rules, we move on.

Yeah so Cripps to West coast for Jack Petruccelle and Matt owies

Surely Jordan Lewis' opinion piece isn't considered worthy of actual discussion?

The Ashley and Martin chemical products seeped through that blokes scone a long time ago.

Mainstream article is a pretty low bar, but it clears it. On the basis of a self-declared ITK on a club board it definitely gets closed, and it was, but with a mainstream opinion out there that needs airing, it does get a thread for that purpose.

The mod team debated this pretty vigorously all day yesterday, we concluded that threads should be allowed to exist to discuss mainstream opinions (even from shock jocks and opinionistas, like your Kane Cornes types).

We draw the line at social media posts by random nuffies though, so no threads based on trade whisperers on twatter, or random anonymous “ITK” posters or the like.

This line is drawn based on potential for community harm, getting rid of pest behaviours and troll threads, balanced with the fact that it is a discussion forum and there are things out there that people want to discuss, and this is the board that is meant to house that discussion.

And of course, if a player is out of contract in the current or following season then that’s completely fair game, whether the media thinks they could or should move, or not.

Can’t blame him for wanting to head home.

O’meara was halfway out the door to Giants before the Dockers got wind of it and turned his head to return home.

Eagles would be well and truly telling Cripps to end his days back home.

Almost the entire season relative to previous years Cripps has looked either checked out or he’s over the hill and his body is too beat up. I wouldn’t be surprised if he cliffs sooner rather than later, especially if he loses any mobility.

If Carlton can get something good for him I’d take it and run. Their current list build is cooked. Time to rebuild.
How’s he over the hill it’s not like his lost a yard of pace his never relied on that still as strong in a contest as anyone plenty of clubs would happily take him if the cost is not to high .

Have you seen other threads on here? Most of them are just one particular poster saying 'X player is out of contract in 3 years' time, what's he worth?'

This one at least had ongoing discussion about it.

Let's go a trifecta and bring over Tom Mitchell as well. He looks on the outer at Collingwood.

Does he really have any affinity to WA? Was only here for a couple of years while Barry Mitchell was an assistant at Freo. When Tom joined the Hawks I don't remember their being much chatter about him heading West. Anyway I do like the idea of bringing in Cripps at the right price. Outside Yeo who never players our biggest body inside mid is Reid who is 20.

He polled 45 Brownlow votes last year. I don't think he has fallen off a cliff yet.

Agreed. Not so much for WA the location.

Is he top 10 this year? Though maybe noone else at Carlton get votes so he may get a lot of 1s and a few 2s.

Luke Power & Luke Parker were traded at 31

Power got a pick 69
Parker got a pick 44

Yes, Cripps is doing better than both those blokes - but to think he would get a 1st rounder is batshit crazy. He is going to be 31 come round 1 & has put a shit-ton of miles on his body. The end could very well come fast for him once the decline starts to show. Crazy talk to think anyone would give a 1st rounder for him. I don't think there has ever been an example of a 31+ year old being traded for that

How old was Cameron traded to Cats?

He wasn't banged up though.
