Patrick Dangerfield?

It's not going to be put to bed until he is traded. Do you expect us to just stop talking about one of the biggest things that has happened to the football club in 10 years?

There are so many inconsistencies that the real story needs to be questioned. It has been reported in the media that his mother lives in Vic, yet this 'insider' source says she flew down.

Who do we believe?
you want to talk about this over the fact that his father has been gravely ill? dont you have any idea of sensitivity? for gods sake the man has a father who is extremely ill and has one wish of seeing his two sons play together. Family over footy any day of the week and beams deserves to do what he feels is right for his family. Yes beams is a gun player, but sometimes footy should stay out of family matters. I will not have one problem with beams going to brisbane because he deserves the opportunity to play with his brother because thats what his father wants the most.
You are treating it as if beams is ditching our club because he doesn't want to play at collingwood anymore. That would be a different issue alltogether.

This place amazes me... You have to wonder what goes through some peoples minds on here.

I think some people on here are having real trouble excepting the fact that Beams will not be in a Pies jumper next season. Why even question his motive to leave when he has given us the answer why.. some people..

I would really appreciate it if you learnt how to paragraph and also punctuate properly as it is very hard to read.

What is a football forum for? To discuss matters surrounding the football club. Beams' Instagram from a few weeks ago suggests his father is in remission so to say he is "gravely ill" would be wrong.

There is no doubting that his father is still quite ill and that he would love his sons to play together as he perhaps enters the last stage of his life and that this is part of the decision, I just think there is more to it and the inconsistencies need to be ironed out.

You're presuming that I want Beams to stay against his wishes. Stop putting words in my mouth, I'm happy to let him go as long as we get adequate compensation. To make any player do something against his wishes is poor man-management.

I just believe there is more to the story than his father being the one and only sole reason as to why he is leaving the club.

The club line is one thing, the truth could quite possibly be another.

Beams hasn't said anything. It's the club that came out with a statement, not him.

The truth is he wants to be with his dad and brother as he rarely sees them. This way he can play in Melbourne almost every second weekend and still see his mum as well. Father wants to live in Gold Coast and Mother likes Melbourne..Simple if you think about it.

I wish Beamsy the best of luck whatever his decision.

Please. You think the club is making it up and Beams hasn't bothered to respond. Jesus wept man.
You don't think it is beyond the realms of the club and Beams to make a deal to bend the truth?

As I said I have no doubt his father is one aspect of the decision but there must be more to it. Why else would the club say it would try and convince him to stay?

If it was just about the father I'd have no doubt the club would let him go and not make any "we're trying to keep him" statements.

Sorry everyone, didn't realise we had to take the clubs word for everything and believe them 100% of the time. You know, they have a great record of telling the truth and giving the supporters the real story...

Once again, I'm open to Beams leaving for adequate compensation and am under no doubt that his father is one aspect of the reason why he wants to go home, but there simply has to be more to the story.

So you say you know
Some Collingwood players
Some Collingwood recruiting staff
And now Adelaide recruiting staff

Would it be impolite of me to suggest you talk shit?
Never said I knew any recruiters at Collinwood, I know a few blokes in the VFL side as most come from local clubs in my area. To be honest I don't really care if flogs like you believe me or not

Please stop the speculation re Beams & his family...it's not necessary or relevant.
If he does depart then the best of luck to him & his family.
Hope we are sufficiently rewarded...Danger would be nice.

Is there some correlation between small craniums and conspiracy theories.
I don't know, do they make tin hats for small heads?:drunk:

As for the topic at hand, I've heard so many rumours about Beams, the club and this whole situation that I'm happy now to just sit back and let it play out without worrying about "what's really going on".

Maybe she lives in Melbourne but when he was admitted to hospital she flew up to see him then flew back to tell her son and daughter a few days latter

Well, if Beamsy didn't want to be here and add the family side of things to it, why would we bother trying to persuade him? I would have expected a statement from both player and club about this matter if it went down like that.

Now if he is telling the truth (Which I 100% believe having known about his fathers health) then wouldn't the club be stupid to not try and persuade him to stay as it could potentially be worked around seeing he is a contracted player for next season.

A thought on the whole Danger/Sando situation. Remembering that earlier in the year Dangerfield said something along the lines that 'he greatly respected Sando and would not be leaving the club while Sanderson was there'.

If it IS TRUE that Dangerfield had a hand in the sacking of Sanderson, not much chance of Dangerfield leaving the Crows. If he still wants to leave, go home factor, and that Bucks gets Sando to be an assistant at Collingwood, surely Dangerfield will not come to Collingwood to be along side the man he just deposed.

However; if what he said on TFS is true and he had no part in the sacking, he could well be apposed to the sacking, that increases the likely hood of him wanting to come back to Victoria. Being a Geelong boy they would be his likely be his preferred choice. Collingwood would also have to be highly likely taking into a three way deal due to the Beams situation, add to that if we get Sando as an assistant we stand a fair chance of getting him.

Lots of people getting worked up over nothing. All based on 2 tweets with no evidence, that Dangerfield shared a coffee with our skipper. The reality is we are likely to lose our 2nd best player & possibly 2 time B&F & he wont be replaced with somebody who can play as well as he can.
Yeah, remember MM having a coffee with Goddard, we know how that turned out.

This whole dying wish thing... As I understand it he is in remission rather than at death's door.

In any case I think there's a line to be drawn here and it has nothing to do with being "heartless". If he wants to be close to his ill father then I see no problem with us brokering a fair deal to get him to with Brisbane or GC. But can we drop this stuff about a dying wish to see his sons play together? It may even be the one thing he really wants, but it's the football department of the Collingwood Football Club we are talking about, not the Starlight Foundation.

im sure the club is very compassionate in not s
Ironic that you call others muppets. Cause frankly, you are the biggest muppet alive. Go back to your cave you insensitive piece of shit

Had a few beers watching the game today?

Relax a bit.

He was in remission and then the results came back worse then he thought kept it from family and friends till after the season ended or so we are told by a family friend of Daynes.
