So if he is the best person we identified for the job, what happens if we did go to Centrals before convincing him to join us, they offer him more, or make promises and convince him to stay, and we miss out?

I want my club to do what it has to do to be successful. The only one I don't really like is coaches moving during or before the finals, but even then if we got someone great I wouldn't really care how we did it, I get that OPPOSITION supporters might not like it but as a Crows supporter I would be fine with it.

I agree with the premise of being ruthless towards gaining success. However, if there is a gentleman's agreement in place, then that's not something I'd be keen to contradict. No such agreement exists between us and any SANFL clubs, so it's not an issue. But I wouldn't like to be breaking the agreement at AFL level.

At the risk of having to suffer another devastating Emoji from WFL, I'll reply.

First, thanks for a considered answer With the Porplyzia situation, an agreement did exist, in fact a signed agreement. Adelaide were approaching a contracted player to play against that team in the same competition next year.

As I've repeatedly said, though, I have no problem with the players improving their situation by accepting, but I'm a bit surprised at the venom and personal attacks just for suggesting a bit of courtesy wouldn't have gone astray.

Anyway, we get a good potential coach in Thomas, so we can all move on.

Give it a rest. Who are you anyway and rattled your cage ?

Yeh. Thought so.

Now get back to your BIP.

Look, I'm very sorry you apparently have nothing better to do on a Saturday night, but I'm not going to take the bait this time. You already did a masterful job of showing how much of an entitled bigot you are last time we discussed Goodes. Trust me - you've got nothing left to prove.

I was just missing your 2 dimensional, cartoon vignettes :p

OK.Adelaide signed up to certain conditions as part of their entry into the SANFL. Along with all competitions, it isn't permitted to approach contracted players without asking permission of the club who has contracted the player.

In the Porps case, that's a clear breach of the rules.

When you have a very big AFL club not advising a small SANFL club, it shows a lack of respect and a touch of arrogance that would have been easy to avoid with just a bit of thought.

No big deal, just an observation.

I can't believe this thread is still going over what really is a non-issue in the scheme of things.

If an employee is approached for another job, it is the employee's responsibility not the new employer's to let them know. It's crazy to expect the new employer to approach the old employer before the employee.

It really is off season when this thread makes it beyond 1 page & amount of personal bs being thrown.

Seriously much ado about nothing.

Right on cue.
