Darren Pfieffer has been omitted again,

Why does this guy keep losing his spot in the team?

I think he has played well the couple of times he has been given a game, and he was a clear standout early in the NAB cup, Just dissapointing to see him be omitted,

This guy could be a pretty good player for carlton but continuely gets dropped..Why??

Thoughts??

Maybe not getting good enough stats on some particular thing the coaches measure, maybe making way to give young Ellard a crack at it, maybe a team balance/match-ups for the week issue, maybe he boned Mrs Ratten during the week.

He'll get plenty more chances - I think he's shown a bit too...

What do you mean again?? He has played since round 2.

He has had 2 very quiet weeks, and probably won't hurt him to go back to the 2's, get more game time and work on his skills.

The up side is that Ellard, who also showed heaps in the NAB and at the Bullants is getting a gig.

Its not all doom and gloom.

This is the first time he was dropped this year. He didnt start but i agree. Very annoyed that some players are getting a game ahead of him.

Was one quiet one after a string of good performances then gets dropped. A joke! And why are we playing a rookie who I bet hasn't shown much? We need to bloody stabilise this side!

Hardly continually. We've only played 6 games. He's stiff but I'd like to think he will certainly be back sooner rather than later. We need his attack on the ball.

I think he was pretty stiff again to lose his spot - not just on potential for the future but on actual performance I think he deserves to keep a spot in the side. If Ellard is being used as a small forward and O'Hailpin comes in for Hartlett it seems Wiggins will be in the backline which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

You're right, Pfeiffer is very unlucky, there were perhaps a couple who could have had spells before him. However, with regards to Ellard, he has actually shown quite a bit in the Ants and deserves this promotion, and I'm looking forward to see him crumbing at Fev's feet.

Wiggins provides attack on the ball.

Pfeiffer isn't a better kick than Wiggins at the moment and he was quiet last week.

The Blues need another small forward and goal sneak. :thumbsu:

Was Ellard promoted for Houlihan?

Swann said we might not see another rookie promoted for Houlihan and Browne was playing his first game about two to four weeks go.

Gold.

Its good to have an attack on the ball but lets be honest, He is a SHITE kick. Turns the ball over alot. Carrazoo knows were to run and finds the balll alot easier than the pide pfeiffer

I don't actually mind that, i watched Ellard play in the Bullants last week and showed alot of potential. His skills are pretty good and we could use him in a variety of roles. I rate Pfeiffer and think if we develop him right then he could end up being a very solid player. ATM though i think we need to see if Ellard can at least be competitive at AFL level and assess him over a 3-4 game period. If Ellard was dropped next week then i'd be very disappointed, but Pfeiffer's played since Round 2 and i'm sure that the Match Comittee has formulated an analysis of him. Now it's Ellard's turn to show us what he can do and if he can hack it at the top level.

Who knows, maybe he'll do a Jackson and come into the side and prove what a capable player he can be.

Let me tell you why, he can kick goals from outside 50m very bad . need to kick the ball to fev allways. he should be left in the team:mad:

 Jackson proved he is a capable player?

you guys are sooks. i bet most of you never seen ellard play!

we need to get senior game time into these players. so why not rotate them!

No complaints if he brings his NAB form with him. :thumbsu:

Some of you are overestimating Pfeiffer's ability and performance to date.

Back to the Bullants for me.

Hasn't done that much over the past few weeks to keep his spot in the 22. Give him a few weeks in the reserves to get his form and touch back.

I also think some credit should go to Ratts and the Match Committee. We are finally blooding a swag of youngsters and this is something we did not see under Pagan. We are only 6 rounds in and already Kreuzer, Pfeiffer, Edwards, Browne and now Ellard have debuted. It is refreshing to see kids being given a go at this stage of the season rather than in the last 4 rounds when there is not much to be gained. :thumbsu:
