Phantom Draft- A traditional attempt?

1.Melbourne- Jack Watts
Fills all the needs.

2.West Coast- Nicholas Naitanui
Freakish talent, plus also fills needs.

3.Fremantle- Daniel Rich
Despite what people are saying about him going later, i disagree, he has played it with the big boys and i dont think Fremantle will pass on him.

4.Port Adelaide-Tyrone Vickery
Has been stated that they like him, also fills needs

5.Essendon-Chris Yarran
Have stated they want him, and has been described by some as the second best talent in the draft.

6.Carlton-Jackson Trengove
Has been described as one of the best talls by some and suits a lot of key position needs of the Blues.

7.Brisbane-Tom Swift
Voss has been quoted to have said "He is the best under 16 year old" player, even though this was 2 years ago i believe he will not let him pass.

8. Richmond- Lewis Johnston
A quality tall forward that could solve their problem with lack of quality up forward.

9.North Melbourne- Hamish Hartlett
I personally think he is one of the best midfielders in this draft but i believe he will go at around this pick. North Melbourne need some quality midfields with Brent Harvey getting old.

10. Adelaide- Michael Hurley
Even tnhough they are looking for a tall forward, I just believe that the quality of talls does not compare with Hurley after him so that's why i believe he will be taken here.

11.Collingwood - Steele Sidebottom
Collingwood need some class in the midfield and he fits the bill.

12. Sydney- Jack Ziebel
Just becuase.. haha nah I just think this is who they will go for because there are no obvious needs, so will go best available.
13.St Kilda- Stephen Hill
Some may see him as a bit of a slider but I just don't think he is that good. St Kilda really need speed.
14.Western Bulldogs AYCE CORDY!

15. Geelong- Sam Blease
He is a good line breaker, has been said to be the best. Geelong needed this and it was clear in the Grand Final.

16. Hawthorn - Phil Davis
He is an athletic backman, at 196 cm, something the Hawks have been looking for.

As with every draft i've seen...there are 2 sliders that everyone stands up about.

In yours, Ziebell and Hurley are the sliders. Hard to see Ziebell slipping out, but could happen if Brisbane decide Swift over him.

So if this occurs...and Port do what everyone (except a few like me) is tipping by taking Vickery, then you may be right.


This is definitely a draft where any pick inside the top 10 is very equal. Could turn out to be a draft where every first rounder is on par.
