I think sides like Geelong and Kangaroos have successfully shown you can accommodate two dangerous goal kicking crumbers in the forward line. Eddie is great overhead for his size and often presents as a lead-up small forward as well, so I would think potentially another spot for a crumbing goal-kicking small forward.

I loved that left foot snap, was good to have his finishing skills up forward.

As long as coaching staff keep at him about pressure skills.

With his ability to read the ball off packs & Cloke taking some great contested marks, it will encourage us to kick long into forward 50 more often.

Not having a go actually. I quite like Eddie thats what I was curious when you said you wanted another crumber.

Think we need 2 on our list. I'd be delighted if we can find ourselves another Eddie Betts in this draft. BTW I think it's time for the Blues to write a formal "thank you" note to Richmond for taking Trent Knobel ahead of Eddie Betts. We're going to miss Greg Miller. :)

I'm shocked that guns hasn't posted about his man Ellard being the other option for the forward pocket. ;) :)
Well Actually... since 2000
Wellman and Lucas (both have been AA)
Leppitch and Brown (both have been AA)
Cornes and Tredrae (both have been AA)
Barry Hall (AA)
Egan and Mooney (both AA)

so since 2000 2 CHBs haven't been stars and one CHF
I guess you're set and ready to challenge the Hawks, Cats, Roos and Dogs for a flag in the next three years if you draft Hurley when you don't have a great midfield. ;) :D

PS. Piss off. :thumbsu:

Who would Carlton be looking at with they're picks. I think Personally a CHF and CHB

I have no doubt rightly or wrongly they are looking at either D Kerr, J Brown or any other high profile player they can entice with some high picks, players....

And we could use that pick and end up with a JR or a Tambling type of player, personally id take Kerr at least you know what you are getting.

I'm pretty confident we'll be getting a bloody good player with pick 6 if the cards fall that way. We got our big fish last year, time to get back to developing our own. 10 -13 years of what that pick may yield is better than 5 or 6 from Kerr IMO.The cost would be far greater than just pick 6 for Kerr it should also be noted.

The West Coast are on the hunt for early picks to fast track the rise up the ladder again and more power to them, but let them look elsewhere.

I'll be happy with any of Hurley, Ziebell, Hartlett...

Ziebell would be my first and then Hurley although Hartlett doesn't deserve to slide to Richmond.

Yes, maybe we should have traded the last 3 number 1's using the same logic........you just never know what you might get.

My opinion is we definitely SHOULD NOT trade these picks away. We should use them and draft and develop a KPP. You guys have been paying more attention to the up and comers than myself, but I've definitely read your thoughts on Hurley and he sounds just like who we need. We're on the right track with our youth policy, let's keep it that way.

Hurley would solve many problems for us. He's a genuine enforcer who can play either end and kicks like a mule. Play him at CHB, move Waite FWD or the other way around. A guy like this holds more value to me for the next decade than Kerr does.

How about Walker and your 3rd round pick - say pick 40 to Collingwood for their first round pick - say pick 10.

Then on trade picks 6 and 10 to West Coast for Kerr.

:eek::eek::eek:

Don't hold your breath !!

I reckon it's an educated estimate. Trengrove was extreemly good as a 17 yr old last year. However he has had a pretty bad injury (couldnt find exactly what). But i havent seen him play for the last 6-7 weeks. Very simialr case to that of Chris Dawes who fell to 3rd round after a complete knee reco. I could definately see Trengrove slipping to 3rd round.

Love the way he competes. Even yesterday, on one leg, he did everything he could to stay out on the ground.

Dawes went about where he should have I reckon. Trengove would be a steal in the 3rd round, couldn't see that happening.

He's star no doubt. Unfortunately he probably shines too bright to slip through to our pick.:(

Or Austin. ;)

The ability to rotate Austin, Hurley and Waite would be a great fillip for the Blues if we're lucky enough to draft Hurley.

A couple of posters claim that Port are interested in Vickery.

Not too worried if we miss out on Hurley and we draft another class midfielder who can kick goals.

Building a midfield as potentially good as Geelong's wouldn't hurt. :)

Put simply we need Hurley or a Vickery. One of these two could potentially fix up one end of the ground (the defence) because it will allow Waite to play forward (as evidenced by his performance in defence on Brown=terrible and then moved Forward=matchwinner), the irish experiment will end at year's finish, thornton not up to it, bower good, jamison excellent, austin untried yet plus a couple of good running flankers. We also need a ruckman in the mould of Peter Street. Don't give up any early picks for kerr as our midfield will continue to get better.

Nothing good comes from pick 6. Just a history of players who had huge potential but never made it. It is scary you guys getting more high picks. Two more years and you will be unstoppable :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:.

its actually a well known fact that all Clubs get one first round pick each year.

Feck i hope we don't get 6...

It looks cursed.:thumbsd:

Bradley, Cupido, Williams, Dowler, Vance, Sampi, Smith??, J. Walker?, Romobotis??

But, don't worry it won't happen with the choices we have.:thumbsu:

I really hope you're wrong. I'd take 10-15 years of who that pick may deliver over 5 or 6 from Kerr.

Thank G-D someone else wants to actually use our 1st rnd pick to secure a part of a long term rise to the top.

Let WH and co do their stuff
