so far there has not been a great player at pick 6 i hope we have the first. pick 7 or 8 looks like the better pick maybe we should have traded with brisbane or richmond.

I don't normally reply, but i just couldn't help myself this time.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post of the year!!!!!!!!!

AFL recruiters are consistently saying that this is one of if not the deepest drafts in AFL history.
Players to around pick 30 could all go in the first round.

Watch videos of Hurley, Harlett and Ziebell which are the 3 most likely candidates of whom we will pick and tell me again if pick 6 is gonna be a dud.

One thing I've noticed about pick 6, is that the players taken are often 'tweeners'; tallish, versatile types, but who don't fit a clear position. It seems to me that amongst the top prospects, the clear KP players and ball-winning midfielders go first. Then go the utilities, then back to KP and midfielders who have question marks over them, then its usually the specialist/limited types.

I did an analysis of draftee types in each round of the draft for a different thread last year, and utilities are by far the biggest risk - in the first round, and right throughout the draft. The other standout for failures was risky KP prospects. Far better to go for players who have a clear position that they will slot into at AFL level - even if they have 'risks' attached to them (think Selwood...). That means midfielders at pick 6-8, or a clear specialist (like Rioli last year).

When you check out the list of pick 6s - there are a lot of utilities and risky KP prospects in that spot: Murray Vance, Myers, Dylan Smith, Dowler, Bradley, Walker.

Luckily, this draft has plenty of midfielders predicted to go in that spot. So we should get the best out of pick 6, and hopefully beat the curse.

i am confident that this years Pick 6 will be a quality player whether it will be my personal favourite hurley, ziebell or even johnstone. we have made our mistake once with pick 6 amd WH will not repeat this mistake again.

Can we decline pick 6? Just say "pass" when it's our turn? Cause looking at that list in the OP, I think thats the only sensible course of action we can take.

54 games, 208 goals.

Made people come from everywhere to watch him, my favourite memory is when he kicked 11 goals (including a miraculous scissor kick), 7 behinds and one out of bounds on the full against North in 91.

Or when he kissed he brother Glenn after kicking a great goal on him.

Or when instead of running through the banner he went around it and started high fiving the fans.

My favourite player of all time:)
