Don't like this idea. Especially in what appears to be a less strong draft. I'd rather take the chance on getting one solid player than two draft busts.

I've got a feeling we will keep it. Lever would be nice but we will have to pay overs for him and at this stage we need to find some KPF to help Darcy.

Also the whole thing around TPP repair over the next 12 months says to me the club doesn't have its house in order and may not have the money in TPP to accommodate Lever.

I'd do it. There's some good KPP's who are going to fall down the draft order. Two picks in the teens would set us up for some good choices.

Keep and use on the best available forward option unless Lynch is miraculously available. Personally I'm leaning towards either Stephenson or Fogarty because I think they would add the most to our future forward group, they have the potential to be gamebreakers and are the most ready to go.

I'm dead against trading down for later picks because we need a star at either end and I doubt we'll find that with mid to late first rounders. The only realistic outcome that im more scared of is trading it out for a 2018 first. I'd even enquire about trading out our 2018 first for another 2017 first because of how overrated that draft pool is currently. Too many people are ignoring the benefits of a year in the system and the downside of a year too long in the underage system.

Whatever we do don't trade it for another bloody midfielder. Devon Smith the one strongly linked to us, if we use pick 6 to get him (Giants would probably have to throw a later pick or player in too) I'll go nuts.

If we can't trade it for a quality key position player then keep it. Take Brander or whomever is the best available KPP at that stage in the draft and develop them along side Moore, McLarty, Grundy and co.

People underestimate the emotion attached to retirees.
Sure Essendon lost Jobe and Stanton, more than countered by Freo losing Zac Dawson and Ibbotson.

Whilst I'm ok to trade for Lever, not for 800k and he ain't a KPP.
I'm a huge fan at looking towards the 2018 draft & some player who'll be FA.
