I wouldn't be unhappy with Naughton from the videos I've seen.

I reckon TradeDraft should make up a welcome thread for about ten different players and have them all ready to click go. This way he can not only be first but also avoid "more to come"!

I reckon it could almost be a negative for clubs. Romance works in the stands not between the four walls. Once in there, as Seedy found out, having a Collingwood supporter background only leaves you a bit exposed. These guys end up hard nosed, they may play for each other but they don't play for the kid they once were.

I don't think a kid at 18 really understands what it means to move interstate and away from family and friends.

While he may have no problem now, a couple of years down the track, that may change.

Or maybe he's really smart, happy to go there for 2 years and get more game time than he would at some other clubs later in the draft and would get a little $$ bonus for being earlier in draft?

fyi I don't have anything against Thomas and what he gave our clubs in the earlier years, I was more just poking a bit of fun in the unrealistic hope that a top player could slide to us.

Interestingly Naughton and Tyler Brown are both amongst the youngest players in the pool, both are listed as still being 17yo. In Naughton’s case, having played WAFL as a 17yo KPP is pretty impressive.

Wouldn’t change our pick 6 but may change our thinking with a late or rookie pick.
