Tell Kane that that is not good enough! If you haven't replied do so and demand in capitals that Richards tank the interviews, as in play with his phone, talk about his drug habbits whether he dabbles or not, avoid eye contact, and mid interview pick his nose and what would be vary daring is to eat it, which will be sure to turn all other clubs off.

It's Collingwood or bust, I suspect Gavin and Callum Brown are advising Tyler to do the same so other clubs don't **** with his bid. Josh Daicos must have done something similar last year.

Bit late to “tank” interviews now! Gavin Brown is also an intelligent football person working for another club so I find it hilarious that this would even be suggested. Thanks for the laugh :)

Yes, that was my objective.

I know. That’s why I threw you a like and said that.

No one would seriously believe that a guy that’s been in the system for 30 years would suggest that his late draft prospect son should “tank” in order to placate some sense of sentimentality he lost 6 years ago! Surely?

It’s his sons career we’re talking about here lol.

LOL, yeah my post was satire, not really for dissecting, I did edit the original to past tense for you; as in what Kane should have told Ed Richards to do. :p

Pretty sure Ron Richards was Collingwood royalty in his own right. Not everyone can have the media profile that Lou had. So no, none of the top 10 picks are even remotely close to being as linked in to Collingwood as Richards is.
I was being hyperbolic but you have helped me make my point. By all accounts Ron Richards was a good honest footballer. He played a modest 143 games and coached the under 19s. So why is he considered Collingwood royalty and would he still carry that moniker if his name was say Lockyer or Licuria?

Didn't his grandfather Ron Richards play 179 games for Collingwood?

I read Louie's book last weekend and the Pannam & Richards name should be respected.

He is being touted as a first round pick so I think it would be a "little" more than a sentimental pick jasper.

I still want a KPP at six I don't care about best available bullshit.

We have a massive hole in our list next year in that position IMO.

Fogarty sounds like the compromise. KPPish and will tick the best available box.

143 games, premiership player, coach and administrator, was involved with the club for decades. If Lockyer and Licuria are still heavily involved with the club in another 30-40 odd years then I’ll have no issue giving them that tag, but thus far they’ve barely scratched the surface of Rons involvement at the Pies over his lifetime.

Fingers crossed!

Which clubs are 4th and 5th.. nth and freo? Have these insignificant piece of crap clubs shown any interest in him?

It's seems like it's between Cerra, Brayshaw, Fogarty and to a lesser-extent Naughton.

I feel North is our biggest threat for The Fog as they have been crying out for a Midfield beast.

Fremantle might want to grab a local KPP in Naughton or do the double Midfield with Cerra/Brayshaw. Hasn't been much news linking Fogarty to the Dockers, so you think we would be safe.

If the top 3 go as people expect which is Rayner, LDU and Dow.

I think Fogarty survives the Kangas, he's pies bound.

North would be mad to overlook Cerra imo, but I’d be perfectly happy to see him at Collingwood. The kid is quality. I’ll be satisfied with him or Fogarty at 6.

I'm with you on that.

Not sure it matters even remotely that Richards comes from that stock.
Only matters is he a bona fide future best 22 with top production.
If not, pass.

Nice hair but.

I've cooled a lot on Fogarty. For a guy we want as a tall forward he doesn't seem to have a very good forward craft. I like to see players with different avenues to goal. You don't see him making good leads. You don't see him kicking lots of goals from ground level. He fights hard for the ball at ground level, has a decent sidestep, but basically bullocks over players by drawing tackles and releasing hand passes. He gets compared to Stringer but he just doesn't have the bag of tricks for that to fly for mine. I'm not sure that cuts it at AFL level? Or am I missing something?

My initial assessment of Fogarty was he looked a great third tall in defence because he reads the incoming ball well and looks a marking presence in that role which he doesn't as a forward. Which is a good combo with his other qualities (speed, attack on the ball, kicking) in that role. I also like his attributes for midfield if he can get his endurance up which I think would take a few preseasons, which is fine.

If we're to gamble on a tall forward at 6 I reckon Bonar has a lot more going for him in terms of playing qualities for the role. But it'd be a hell of a risk.

If they're looking for a hard at it skillful mid.. then cerra is apparently that and good to go.. Fogarty is north are prepared to wait.. will need to develop more endurance.. that will take time.. you'd think given Norths predicament.. and how much they were prepared to pay Kelly.. they need a mid and they need him quick.

So Fogarty may not be on their hitlist.

At this stage of his career.. hasn't been a great accumulater of the pill either (Fogarty). So I don't think they'll wait 3 or 4 yrs for the bloke to get to the 20-25 possession stage.. they need a quick fix.. cause they're shit!

They'll get Cerra I bet.

Fogarty comes to us! The madman.

In order of preference (players that are realistically a chance)

Cerra > Naughton > Fogarty > Coffield

We saw the impact of Wells in the team and his ability to hit up targets inside 50, Cerra is rated number 1 for delivery inside 50.

Naughton, to play the way he did in the WAFL as a 17 year old (ranked 3rd for intercept marks) Our defence would be quite strong.

Naughton, Howe, Scharenberg, Langdon are all fantastic readers of play.

Fog can play but unsure where he is best suited, if only he had an extra 3 or 4cm growth in him.

Coffield, little soft but oozes class, guaranteed 200 game player.

Think we have gone off Coffee tbh besides he wants to be a dog. Saints or Dogs will have him. Its between Cerra, Fogarty and Naughton imo with Richards, Bonar and Murphy outside smokies. But we should take one of those first 3.

Cerra then Coffield for me. (Unless Rayner drops ofcourse)

Based on nothing but mere speculation of those that might know

Rayner wont make it past 1 imo.

Equally happy with Cerra or Fog then Naughton. Also open to taking a risk on Bonar. Massive risk though not sure we can afford to make a risk that big

If we get Cerra.. and Fogarty was still available.. my suspicions are that we are going after Lynch no holes barred next yr.

Trade out our reasonable players.. Phillips Greenwood Aish and a big name or 2.

If we get Fogarty.. my suspicions are that we'll still go after Lynch no holes barred and develop and forward line the likes that Hawthorn had with Roughead Franklin and Gunston had.. only f better. F you Hawthorn! Here comes Collingwood!!!
