Seriously how skinny is Siggins legs .........certainly won't be able to hold himself up in a contest ATS

yep ....2-3 years min to build up

They would have consulted Poulos ........now there's a challenge

Never stopped Dustin Fletcher...fair defender???

I was talking more about how the AFC were saying how incredibly lucky we were to be able to recruit these two kids. Sometimes you need to just forget the spin and keep your mouth shout.
And I'm saying that every single club does the same spin/snow job regarding how highly rated their late round picks are/were (except GWS who haven't had any late picks yet).

The difference between an AFL heavyweight in Tex Walker, and Sam Siggins.

Shows how work he's got to do to get AFL ready.

It isn't a fair comparison, Tex is actually a very big boy. Give Siggins a couple of good years in the gym and he can get in the upper 90 kgs.

Interesting to read some posts from some Vic club boards on draft night. there is no question Atkins was expected to be called in the 30's . I know recruiters like to spin but little doubt this kid was a slider.
good to know, the left foot lazer could be handy. Siggins sounded good as well in his interview, attitude goes a long way in my book and he sounded great.

This.

Tex is the adrenaline.

Amen to that, Allef :thumbsu:

Interesting to hear how Sam really wanted to come here, presumably because we showed a lot of interest in him. I'm guessing it wasn't just Sando and Ogilve, but perhaps the likes of Dangerfield as well. It goes to show that it's really important to have those kinds of people in your club that will get others on board.

Danger doing ALOT of that sort of stuff since Sando, and possibly more importantly that guy heading up the new leadership programme, joined the club.

Sando's first BS to us might just be his comments on VB's tenure as captain ;) (yes STO i'm purely shitstirring - calm the **** down)

I reckon Patty would be doing this sort if thing regardless who our coach was. He just seems to be that sort of kid.

aren't they all down there...
You have to wonder how Hawthorn (and North) make any profit out of their "home" games in Tasmania. Sure, they get 18,000 spectators, but they're all coming in on the one family ticket.

Ahh.. Tasmanian jokes.. there's no shortage of them.

Strong words coming from someone living in Canberra :p

Plenty of jokes to be made about Canberra, but nobody could call us in-breds. Native born Canberrans are a relatively rare thing - they do exist, but they're a small minority of the population. Most people here are ex-pats from the states, moving to Canberra when they take up jobs in the APS.

Here's another of my favourites..

If a Tasmanian divorces his wife, is she still legally his sister?

Every club's ranking list is going to be very different. We obviously rated Sam Siggins quite highly, some other clubs might not even had him in their sights at all.

North picked up a guy called Mitchell Watkins, who played only 3-4 games for Norwood's reserves, with the majority of his year being spent with his school side! I'd say its likely no other club would have picked up this player, but North clearly were keen to select him.
It was Mitch Wilkins and I know for a fact that at least one other club would have picked him up not long after if North didn't. Had he still been around I suspect the Crows would have grabbed him where we picked Atkins as I know we had looked at him as well

I can remember when Tex had skinny chicken legs, from 2010.
