Bendigo had a deep, classy midfield. Joel Selwood, Daniel Connors were drafted. Tom Sheldon, Jarryn Geary would have gone close. Grant Weeks played Metro too.
As a result Andrew Collins played back-pocket. Bendigo did a lot of flooding and zone defence. They set up most of their attacks from the backline through Avery, Collins and others.
Collins is a tidy player. Similar to Chris Newman or Chris Hyde. Always played well but never jumped out as anthing more than a solid 15-18 touch midfielder. Good defender, did some tagging. Occasionally pinched a goal.
Probably a bit lucky to have Selwood, Connors, Avery, Sheldon etc as teammates which got the scouts to the games. We probably noticed him following Jon Lee (got both Connors and Collins).

Andy is a good pick up. His endurance is up with the best and he can cover the ground quickly as well. What also appeals is is ability in the air. He can take good marks on packs. As yet he is a bit light and doesn't go body on body. With work in the gym he could develop into a really good utility. He is a project worth the investment.
