I've read these two sentences a few times, and I still dont understand the point you're making here.

I can see both SA clubs offering for pick 1 but it will be reasonable offer but not enough for the Blues to give it up, I think a more realistic option is trying for the Saints pick as they should be able to get the king kid later and it may be a 3 way trade with the Dogs

The problem with the SA teams going for Pick 4 is that there is every chance the Suns take Lukosious and Rankine at 2 and 3.

Presuming Carlton select Walsh at 1, my gut tells me the Suns either go the two SA boys (Lukosious and Rankine), or the King twins (start with a spine for their rebuild, ready made replacements for May and Lynch, and increased ease of player retention with the boys being twins, and getting the family involved with the Gold Coast etc).

Saints at 4 could call out anyone. They could use a quality KPP like the Kings or Lukosious with McCartin not looking great at the moment, they could use a gun midfielder like Walsh or Smith to give Steven a hand in the guts, and they could use a match winner with genuine star power like Rankine. If I had to guess, they probably go Smith (presuming Walsh is gone of course) unless Lukosious is on the board still, in which case he's too good to pass up at 4.

Maybe Rankine falls to 5 for Port, but only if the Suns go for the Kings instead of the SA boys.

Hence the recent comments from Port ('dont select them or we'll come knocking in 2 years').

Port either take the gamble the top 4 are 1: Walsh, 2: King, 3: King, 4 Lukosious or Smith, and hope Rankine or maybe Lukosious slides to 5, or they trade down to get 1, 2 or 3.

Where things get really intresting is if the Crows snatch Pick 3 or 4 and leapfrog the Power.

Hopefully , but don't mind last minute change to Lukosius and Rankine also . That is what make Live Draft trading fun. Pick 2,3 is like cash in your pocket , until you pick It,it can change anytime .

If GC get Lukosius and Rankine at 2,3 I think GC might put in pick 6 and 24/29 for pick 4 and let Port and Adelaide counter offer St Kilda .
Adelaide 8 , 16/ 21 for 4,36.
Port 5,15 for 4 ,36.

I would have thought the smart money is on Lukosius and Smith at 2&3, Rozee at 6 if still there.

Wildcard is St Kilda, they could do anything, include trade out, which would make Rozee a non starter.

Edit-From what I understand Rozee would be better support than Rankine in regards to a ‘stay’ strategy. That’s why I’d trade up to 4 and not leave things to chance.

Use of terms not the best. I probably mis-interpreted what he said as Suns don’t have a 2r. Was in the car so details not accurate maybe. Kane Cornes was speaking on radio today mentioning big trade along those lines.

He didn’t mention Crows but said would be deal between Suns Blues and Power

GC probably need to keep 24 for Jez McCennan after the SA small defender basically told to GC "draft me". If you're going to go the SA kids, probably best to draft one that actually wants to go there.

Nah a bit like Wingard , Mitch Gov deal.
Learn from SA team
Mitch Mcgovern = pick 12 + McAdam
Wingard = pick 15 + Burton


Rankine = Jaz/? +pick 8-15.
Or Rankine can always nominate for 2021 draft and get pick again by GC

I think the afl Twitter will post any prior to the draft.

The live tv coverage (and Twitter / Afl site etc) would be all over the live trades on draft night/day.
