Pick 4? No way.

Yeah, I was thinking it depended on who would be in the mix for that area... I know they wouldn't take that as it is, but there might be something to it. Dogs would be willing to trade something for those two I would think...

Oh God,
and so it begins.

I don't want it to happen (and I don't have any confidence in the idea in any case), don't get me wrong. I was just thinking about a way of getting a first round pick and this popped into my head...

Am I the only one who finds it absolutely baffling that we've accepted the need to swap good players for picks, yet the one with the highest currency and no spot in the team is the one who is deemed off limits?

TBC?

scezza nailed it.

Is an essentially back-up ruckman our highest priority?
Ahhhhh, have you changed your tune? I always thought you were anti trade belch.
So what would you look for? I first round pick to pickup a young gun mid? I feel like a young inside mid is what we're after. Hence the Caddy Quest.

No, I've always thought we need to trade him because there's no definite spot for him, and in two years he's a free agent. It's our last chance to get something for him.

We need to trade for picks IMO and use FA to improve the 2014 team. We can't afford to have a big gap in the list from the 1995 and 1996 classes - we had a 1981-83 gap and that destroyed us.

I agree with you, I also think that Gumbo deserves more time and can pinch hit with Ryder in the Ruck ie Q.Lynch L.Brown. Only gumbo would offer more up forward.
Throw in Daniher, and we're OK.
I love Adams, I would do that trade. Adams and Neagle wouldn't be a bad result

Looking at that list, the only mid-range one I'd go for is Johnson tbh. Ellis if he wasn't so injury-proned

So would we be comfortable losing Hille and TBC in the same year? It would leave Ryder with Gumby and JD to be the back ups.

There are others who we could trade for (Trent West, Jono Griffen?, Daniel Gorringe, Jono Ceglar, Max Gawn) and I'm sure there are many more as well

We all know when it comes list management, football clubs don't take risks like this. They play it conservative. So it's not that baffling. TBC needs to force the issue himself.

There's an implied value that we chase 1-2 back ups as well, maybe Ceglar and Sikora or similar.

Don’t lose hope Bombers fans. In the past few years we have had 1st and 2nd round draft picks such as Kepler Bradley, Leroy Jetta, Anthony Long, Tom Hislop, Andrew Lee and Jay Nash, who have not set the world on fire to say the least.

In the same period we have picked up Stewart Crameri, Josh Jenkins (found form at Adelaide), Ben Howlett, Heath Hocking as rookies; Michael Hibberd, Kyle Hardingham and Tom Bellchambers in the pre-season); and players like Bachar Houli and Cale Hooker in later rounds of the main draft.

Whilst losing basically 3 early round picks will hurt, hopefully we can trust in the recruiting people to really go above and beyond over the next 2 seasons to make the most of the limited picks that we have. Certainly some Crameri, Bellchambers, Hibberd standard players would be handy.
