Hearing that GWS are keen to help us and is willing to offer Pick 1 and maybe a player or 2nd rounder, this is of course provided we give them a reasonable trade.
This would be my trade:
OUT: -Bellchambers (Has plenty of currency and is really only a back-up for Paddy, his playing VFL the last couple of weeks seems to suggest he could be on his way out).
-Gumbleton (Seems to be behind even Daniher now, while he has shown glimpses the last 2 seasons he's not in our best 22 and its better for him and us to part ways).
-Pears (Has shown a couple of glimpses of what he could do but his form is up and down like a yo-yo, people have suggested he could take Fletch's role once he retires but for mine if we can get Boyd then it'll enable Hurley to be a more permanent defender).

IN: -Pick 1 (To be used on Boyd, will essentially give us the best 2 forwards for the next 10+ years).
-Pick 20 (I think that's what their 2nd rounder is) or Taylor Adams.

Personally I'd love it if we worked out a deal that netted us both of those picks and Adams like if we threw in Jetta and Colyer or something but I doubt we'd be able to do that.

Personally I believe if we did this it'd free up cap space for us and potentially make a play for one of the bigger free agency names in 2014 (I'm looking at you Bryce Gibbs).

Never ever even consider putting Bryce Gubbs as a possible target for this fine club. We don't like squibs

Or he is playing in the VFL as he qualifies for the VFL finals...just a thought...

Lol so in: 1st pick, Taylor Adams/20th pick
Out: Bellchambers (not in the top 10 Ruckman in the game) and Pears-gumbo (can't get a game, injury ravaged)

Thats true, I just think he's too good to be a backup and tbh thats all he is at the bombers right now

How do you figure that, he has played 85% of games this season. Ryder and TBell can play together. Furthermore and I stress this, TBell is not worth pick 1. I wish he was but he is more the pick 9/10 range that GWS have. If that is the case, it is useless as after the top 7-8 the draft falls away a bit.

Player Watch - Will closely watch Kyle Martin on Sunday - Collingwood may not be able to place him on their primary list in 2014 - Offer him a contract and he will be best 22.

Good player, will probably cost more than you think though!

Maybe Sheeds and his crazy ass have had a say? It's his grand plan to pull one over GWS then come back as a PR/Media/Whatever the **** he wants for EFC? Haha.

Bellchambers is probably worth a top 10 pick but he is not worth pick 1. We could add Pears in and it still isn't worth pick 1. People have to realise just how good Boyd is! To get him you are talking Carlile type players and you don't give these players away!

People are deluded about TBC's worth. He is worth a top 10 pick. If it is up to me, if GWS want him, it is pick 1.
Or Pick 10 and Adams.

TBC has a potential to be a Cox. Compare his marks up forward and goals, and goal kicking accuracy.

He is worth a lot. I would prefer to keep him. (Changed my mind on it).

TBC and Pears together, we can play for 10 and Adams. Though I will be going for No.1 and Adams.

He is not worth pick 1. He just isn't. Tom Boyd is that good, but if you are talking pick 1 you are talking Nic Nat. Bellchambers is good, he isn't AA good though. Alone he is probably worth around pick 5-10, so it would require some serious steak knives to get pick 1. Pears + TBC might, but if I were GWS I wouldn't deal.

Very lucky for us that Tom Wallis isn't available 'til 2015 if reports about him are accurate. It goes to show how unpredictable F/S are when Wallis produces a better player than the likes of Long and Thompson.

So much trade talk doesn't make sense to me. If Bellchambers is good enough to command a top 10 pick does it not follow that he is good enough to be developed into the club's number 1 ruck? One more preseason with the sort of improvement shown in the last should just about do it. So much flows from Bellchambers' development.

Contrary to popular belief, Ryder's best games were always in tandem with Hille. Ryder generally rucked later in games when he could jump over a battered opponent and otherwise run him off his legs. We then get an exceptionally mobile third tall forward who is seriously good at ground level and for who ground level pressure comes naturally which helps breath life into the forwardline.

As far as the hard leading half forward option is concerned Crameri is about as good as it gets. He just needs to stay fit and have the focus taken off him by playing alongside Ryder/Bellchambers and hopefully a combination of Hurley, Daniher and Gumbleton (I mention Gumbleton because Hurley should replace Fletcher). I think some of you need to remember that Crameri is still a relatively inexperienced player who has struggled to get a decent run at the game because of his body. He certainly has the physical attributes required to be a half forward.

I agree on the Bellchambers thing. We are lacking depth at ruck. We have a very good ruckman on our list who has made quantum leaps in improvement over the past couple of preseasons. I'd like to see him make similar improvements on our list going forwards, not somewhere else.

We give away Bellchambers, we get a midfielder or a forward with a draft pick. Who rucks when Ryder goes down given Hille is retiring?

Oh yeah, it's about this time of year Hudson becomes available so maybe we should get him. ****ing please.....

With Hille retiring we will need another ruckman even if TBC stays. Rookie a ruckman with previous experience I say. The most obvious one that springs to mind is Cameron Wood. He's no star but would be an adequate backup in the event of injuries. Collingwood gave up pick 19 for him from memory. Not sure what he has done this season after being delisted last year but this is the sort of player suited to a rookie list purely as an insurance policy.

Apparently Bart McCullough or whatever his name is (former Brizzy player) has been tearing the TSL a new one this year. Then again, it is TSL
