Really do not want to lose Crameri and Gumbleton in the one go (or at all really).

But we have no choice. Couldn't hold on to Crameri and Gumby was moved on. Gumby's decision to refuse the Bulldog's contract in 2012, has come back to bite us. Do think we will draft a tall, although there is little quality available in 2013.

Clark reporting the Chapman would be on 250K a year.

******* bargain.

I am surprised at this figure. Average wage is about $280K - Thought Chappy would get 300K.

if he is on the park when you play finals, that's all that you need.

not trying to troll or anything but just interested in your opinion as a cats fan. Are you disappointed with the club for effectively moving Chapman on or do you think its reasonable and in the best interests of the club

Gumby wasn't moved on. He did exactly what Crameri did.

So if this gets announced on Monday/Tuesday, does that then lessen the need for an upgrade for pick 22 for Stew with the Dogs??

Will this now change our direction on what we require in the F50, as to me it seems #12 for Chappy is pretty much a like for like swap and nulls out the need for a F50 replacement?? Or do we see Chappy floating through the middle, leaving us a player short in the F50 still??

I wonder if the Pies would take 22 + 33 or whether they'd prefer us to try and package those two for whatever we can get.

I think they'll want something more for Shaw - equivalent to 14-18 but hey, strange things happening this trade period! I'd imagine they'd be super keen on Shaw - Adams swap (which would also freeze out major opponent in Pies & Us)

I agree, which is why I'd say the Crameri deal is at a stalemate. If we could effectively swap Crameri and Gumby for Shaw, both deals would have been done by now, but I suspect there's more work required. I wonder if Geelong would like Steven Wells to have 3 cracks at the draft before pick 35...

Personally, I see pick 22 as completely different from Chapman.

Either is used for another player (Shaw/Dal Santo) or we use it to invest in the future.

Don't howl me down for this but I think there might be a chance we try to get McKernan as insurance.

Haven't thought of that, but definitely a chance.

McKernan is leaving Adelaide for more opportunities that he will not get at Essendon, Saints seem a likely new home for him.

Cameron Wood is a good insurance for ruckmen - he's performed well for Williamstown since leaving the Pies and is probably just above VFL standard ruckman. Seems ideal to me - he'd be happy to play VFL for ok money (that's what he's doing at Willy) and he gets an occasional AFL match through injury/suspension to our top tier.

I think Shaw becomes a genuine possibility if we manage to get 33 for Gumby.
I think 22 is still unders for Crameri and we are right to try and squeeze a little more out of there. But 22 + 33 is starting to get close for Shaw. If I were Collingwood, I wouldn't quite accept that, but they could easily be bundled together for a slightly higher pick. It's getting around the mark now.

Shaw really isn't the position we need at all, but geez the flexibility of talent with Hibberd/Dempsey/Shaw off HB is exceptional.

That would leave us for the period of likely in Chapman + Shaw + Bulldogs steak knives for Crameri and Gumbleton. Clear win. We would then need to analyze the structure of our list though. Probably one more depth key forward is needed, to which I'd be looking at the draft. And going under the radar, but again at least 1, probably 2 ruckmen.
