BOOM! There you go Demetriou you ****ing idiot, proof that it wasn't just Essendon and you only targetted us because you were looking for a club to string up and we just happened to be the honest ones who came forward to be checked out. Its not Essendon thats corrupt/unscrupulous its you and the other AFL directors...

*rant over*

You've got it wrong. I argued at the time that if supplements program was administered orally that the media shit storm would have been reduced - It still would have been a shit storm.

Hmm either way it seems to me that pretty much every other club has done something similar (hoping Collingwood and Carlton get charged).

tbf it's The Australian - they still classify Patrick Smith as a journalist.

I'd prefer to keep Crameri IF he stayed for sensible $$... pick 22 seems unders..

I'm not confident on him staying though.. although a close mate did tell me he was staying about a month ago now and he hasn't changed his opinion...

Perhaps Stew had some time away and cleared his head, sort of like bomber did, and realised he wanted to stay and that next year won't be like last year?? Or maybe he has just realised that he has a real chance of winning a flag with the Bombers??

I'd think it is 98/2% split on leaving/staying..

Ok so maybe it wasn't the same day, I'll admit I got it wrong. But my point that I'm trying to get across is how can there be so many contrasting stories out there with limited facts and secret sources, especially from the same paper in a matter of days, either way one of those headlines is wrong, it may as well be an artical written by one of bigfootys finest about what his/her dead grandmamas uncles daughters sons nephews cousin overheard while he was talking to ricky dyson down the street. Out of the loop and getting old news of a has been (former afl player) like half the journos on tv are. The former Afl player (can't remember who) on Adelaide radio said Hurley wanted out, and it was from a "good reliable source". not all cases but some the people who say the things should be held accountable for what they say, so they stop talking BS and stop getting away with it, how many times during the year did someone write/say something about Hird and get away with it.

Total crap if you ask me, they need to be taken to account.

Sorry to bore those wanting to talk trades and stuff,

Jared Polec has just started going out with a chick that went to my school here in Melbourne (yes she's insanely hot).

Wonder if it will sway him towards coming to Victoria instead. Worth a look?
The GF? Yes. You know what to do.... Pics or link.

Agreed.

But it's that "fling enough shit and maybe one will stick" mentality in the media... continuously try to predict something, and then report the opposite, no one ever remembers the calls they got wrong, they hide that in the closet - only highlight what ends up being correct. Media gambling, that's all it is.

The four biggest 'trades' that have been completed this year are the Buddy deal, the McEvoy trade and the Hampson trade and the Daisy Thomas trade.

I think the Buddy deal is going to hurt the swans bad.. glad it isn't EFC hoping for a guy with dodgy knees to play longer than any other key forward in the modern era!

I think St Kilda just F*up majorly with this one.. they will be feeling the pain for many years so maybe it will be forgotten.. but glad EFC isn't just giving up good players for crap ones.

I think Carlton won big by getting a first rounder for Hampson is good going considering that he is utterly crap.. wtf the Tigers are thinking I'll never know.. perhaps it scared them to actually have some success last year??

However the downside for Carlton is they lost Eddie Betts and they have paid overs for a guy that, if inside sources are to be believed, has the ankles of a 40 year old.. could this be a costly folly by a coach looking to improve his record after needing a once in a hundred and fifty year anomaly to make the finals with what was touted as a top 4 team in the preseason?

So upshot.. I'm kinda glad we have been quiet.. I wouldn't have wanted any of those trades (we have no need for mcevoy)...

Seems like too many people are eager for their club to just 'do' something.. I think it shows how outstanding our recruitment and development has been.. our best 22 is already at the club.. not a lot out there that can improve on it tbh..

Second rounder Richmond gave Carlton for Hampson, he was originally pick 17 (im guessing 1st pick of the second round when carlton tanked and finished bottom).

Is there any news on the Chapman front? The news this morning reported he was going for a medical at Carlton WTF?

after reading this

MANAGER Colin Young says David Myers and Leroy Jetta could be traded despite Essendon insisting the pair are required players.

Young told Trade Week radio today that while Essendon would have to agree to a deal, Myers was open to the possibility of moving to a club that could offer him more time in the midfield.

It sounds like the club will keep Myers unless we get a godly offer for him like a pick in the top 5. Otherwise he is required and Essendon wont trade.

The pick Richmond gave for Hampson was pick 28 infact it will possibly be bit 31-32 when all the compo's are sorted. Anyway I was hearing Essendon are interested in Helbig. Has anyone heard anything in what you might offer? With having no picks in the first 2 round I doubt you'll trade your 3rd or 4th round picks. Id be thinking a 3 way trade with Richmond adding there 4th rounder to try get back into the second round.

Helbig for a Jam donut

Sorry my bad, 2nd rounder.. I'm still glad we didn't do that trade though :)

On Chapman.. club has offered 1+1.. chappy is looking for a straight 2 year deal..

I am still very optimistic that we will acquire him. May not happen until DFA period..

I for one don't want Dal Santo. Not the player he used to be and was highly overrated IMO.

Tags on the other hand is younger and deserves the cash that we'd have to throw at NDS anyway.

It depends on the cost and whether they'd release either via free agency. I'd probably trade Myers for Montagna, but no way for dal.

Chapman is a no brainer. Take him if he's keen. Only has to play 10-15 games to have an impact, comes at a very low cost (~300k, free agency) and is the kind of player that can win you games, especially the bigger ones. If he doesn't play, who cares, he hasn't hurt our list.

No he isn't. Dal Santo was born Feb 22 1984, Montagna Nov 3 1983.
