I for one don't want Dal Santo. Not the player he used to be and was highly overrated IMO.

Tags on the other hand is younger and deserves the cash that we'd have to throw at NDS anyway.

It depends on the cost and whether they'd release either via free agency. I'd probably trade Myers for Montagna, but no way for dal.

Chapman is a no brainer. Take him if he's keen. Only has to play 10-15 games to have an impact, comes at a very low cost (~300k, free agency) and is the kind of player that can win you games, especially the bigger ones. If he doesn't play, who cares, he hasn't hurt our list.

And that's the worst that happens.
We replace Crameri with him. We cut cost in the cap. Daniher steps up to fill Crameri's position in the 22.

Either:
-Chapman plays and is best 22 for most of the season
-He doesn't and we have a player on our list hardly playing (Hille, NLM, Davis)

On Chapman.. club has offered 1+1.. chappy is looking for a straight 2 year deal..

I am still very optimistic that we will acquire him. May not happen until DFA period..

Being reported in the sun today that he will have medicals for both us and Carlton.

I thought we were already a fair way down the road with Chappy and he had already completed medicals and was very close to signing/agreeing with us but that's obviously not the case.

Do you think the deal Rines depends on who will give him a straight two year deal and are we still in the drivers seat regarding Chappy ?

I still believe that montagna would offer more than dal Santo. From what I've seen dal has worse disposal and not as large fitness base.

Let's be frank here - Dave hasn't played defence since early 2011. When Dempsey went down this year, Goddard and Heppell moved back instead of Myersy - he's a midfielder and anyone who talks about defence like those premium quality douchebags Ralph and Wallace is simply displaying their ignorance. There's clearly interest from the Dees, but his motives (or maybe his manager's) are about a bigger slice of the pie.

Disagree with most of this. NDS is younger and less injuries. NDS is an outside player with sublime foot skills. Montagna plays more inside with less efficiency by foot. Montagna probably has better endurance but they are both elite players.

The pick Richmond gave for Hampson was pick 28 infact it will possibly be bit 31-32 when all the compo's are sorted. Anyway I was hearing Essendon are interested in Helbig. Has anyone heard anything in what you might offer? With having no picks in the first 2 round I doubt you'll trade your 3rd or 4th round picks. Id be thinking a 3 way trade with Richmond adding there 4th rounder to try get back into the second round.

Williams was free, unless you count Jay Nash a big loss. Very underrated how good he (Williams) was, due to the way he finished up. Worth it for that Carlton game alone.

Even if Chappy only manages similar, at least we can have a heap of fun the week chappy beats Carlton, "Bidding war" pffft!
