Now I'm confused.. which one is the hack and which one is the AFL footballer? KT might be regarded as the lowest lifeform on the planet right now by most Adelaide supporters, but he's definitely an AFL footballer. McKernan may or may not be, but right now he's closer to hack territory than he is to "a real Footballer".Agreed. So that given the same opportunities as that other bloke, he can wear it and show everyone what a real Footballer looks like, rather then a hack pretending to be an AFL player.
He really is a Brett James clone now!Matty Wright is the new number 11.

Tippett was not and still is not a hack. McKernan just might be.Rightio. I did say given the same opportunities.
Tippet was a hack.

McKernan has been given more opportunities than his form has justified. The fact that he's played so few games is an indicator of where he stands as a player, not of the fact that he's been deprived of chances to prove himself.
I don't let my hatred of Tippett blind me to how good a footballer he is... and how good a footballer McKernan isn't. I probably wouldn't be this angry if Tippett weren't such a damn good player.McKernan hasnt been given the chance to string a more then a few games together. Given the chance he will have a better 2013 then tippett.
Come on mate. Tippett was never as good as everyone made him out to be. Surely now even you can see that,.

I find the idea that anyone could consider McKernan to be a better footballer than Tippett to be ludicrously laughable. Seriously.. this is one of your "Team DJ gets it monumentally wrong... again" concepts.

That's not just 1.2 less per game.. it's 3x fewer. That's not insignificant.1.2 less goals (1.8 - 0.6)

One looks like a footballer. One looks like Inspector Clousseau, bumbling around the field aimlessly.
There is a very good reason that McKernan has played considerably less football than Tippett, and it's not because Tippett was the coach's pet or anything.
Agreed. I don't doubt that he has the talent to make it at the AFL level. Whether he will ever convert that talent into ability & performance at the AFL level remains to be seen. Personally, I think he's too mentally weak to make it happen.McKernan's biggest issue has and always will be himself. We all saw how much of a game breaker his brother was, McKernan is the same level of talent he just needs to decide whether he wants it or not and realise that he IS good enough.
I doubt any current player will switch to no.4 & I think they should break tradition and not put Kurt's name on the locker for 100 games achieved.
