McKernan hasnt been given the chance to string a more then a few games together. Given the chance he will have a better 2013 then tippett.

Now if he is that much of a worse player then him why does he:
Average only 1.8 less disposals per game then Kurt (10.2 - 8.4)
0.9 less marks per game (4 - 3.1)
1.2 less goals (1.8 - 0.6)
& 0.2 less Hitouts (7.9 - 7.7)


Looking at those stats. Yes they all are less. But there is less then a bees dick in most of them. Considering one bloke is paid $700k per year and according to you, so so so so so so much better then the other. Why are these stats the case?

There is a very good reason that McKernan has played considerably less football than Tippett, and it's not because Tippett was the coach's pet or anything.

He had Walker and Tippett in front of him. His performance for South was far better than say Talia. Lack of opportunity and the chance to string games together has held him back. Big chance for him this year.

McKernan is not a hack, he will play most of the season for us next year alongside Walker and will be the direct replacement for Tippett. He is a good tap ruckman in his own right. His contested marking will be important with Tippett gone. Given a real chance to show what he's got, I think he'll be a star.

Agreed. I don't doubt that he has the talent to make it at the AFL level. Whether he will ever convert that talent into ability & performance at the AFL level remains to be seen. Personally, I think he's too mentally weak to make it happen.
