Hi all

Just getting an idea of the preference for player sponsorship in 2014.

Sadly Paul Rofe has moved on and the club is looking more at the standard packages rather than the tailored set Paul offered us.

Our options therefore based on the amount we raised for 2013 are 2 x player sponsorships or a Captain's Club package. The player sponsorships give us access to players but not so many goodies, the Captain's Club goodies but not so much player access unless you combine with a player sponsorship which might be stretching our group financially.

Here's the lowdown:

Player sponsorship (1) $2,700

2 tickets to player sponsor dinner
Scarf, signed framed item
Player appearance (should be able to negotiate a dinner again)
2 tickets to match-day experience at Adelaide Oval
Recognition on club website and online business directory

Captain's Club $5,150 (Add $1,500 for player sponsor upgrade)

2 tickets to Captain's Club event
Scarf, signed framed item
Recognition on club website and online business directory

2 tickets to 5 match day functions
2 tickets to 1 Before the Bounce function
1 corporate car park
2 Essential Power memberships

2 tickets to season launch
2 tickets to gala auction
2 tickets to best and fairest

I might be able to wangle some extras in the player sponsorship, just not what we had in the past.

So who's in and what do you think?

We should be striving for Captain's Club plus the player sponsor.
How much did we raise for 2013 to give us an idea?

Around $5000. We still have $900 in the kitty as I recall, we were thinking of using some of that for the J-Mac fund.

I've never done this before, is it safe to send money of the internet?

Yes. Send your life savings to General Onitsu c/- PO Box 666 Lagos Nigeria. The general will send you back ten billion $US as a goodwill gesture.

I'll even drink the cool aid if Kern says to.

IMO we should aim for the CC as a starting point and if we get more go CC + PS... But happy to go with the flow.

I'm in for what the majority want.

I think we should do a player sponsorship as a minimum that way we get The Port Board BigFooty above one of the player's locker.

To do a Captains club + player sponsor package, which means about 20 people can attend events, we would need approx 40 people x $150 each + use $600 of the $900 in the kitty (which was set aside for a J-Mac charity donation).

Just checking final figures as I have them recorded:

25 x $120
10 x $200

For a total of $5000 exactly.

I think I'll go for it this time. Player sponsorship + CC ideally, but quite happy to go either way.

Also, when are we going to have standardized badges?

I'm not particularly keen on the price of entry going up every year. $150 is a fair bit more than the $100 we started with two years ago.
