Just watching the Footy Show I thought they had an entertaining piece on players who dive. Not surprisingly they focussed on Port Adelaide who do have a couple of renowned divers like Hardwick, Wanganeen and Francou. Mark Williams claimed on the Footy Show that he hates when players dive (obviously).

Just got me thinking what Crows players do this a lot or even sometimes. We are probably one of the teams who does this the least but there must be a couple.

Who do we have?

Carey took a dive last week.

Its funny how The Collingwood Show showed a footage of players from interstate clubs taking dives. It appears to me that Collingwood have their fair share of divers but we couldn't embarass them on the Collingwood show could we??????

Why doesn't it surprise me that Renault is a new sponsor of the Footy Show??????

Grantly Fielke was out best proponent of the dive in the early years.

Since then - not really many - other than perhaps D Jarman who used to try and milk it but he never got free kicks anyway - even if they were there.

Birdman's a bit of a diver. Not real bad though.

Stiffy, my life is so much better since we got Fox Footy. The main reason is that I've stopped watching the Collingwood show. I don't need the anger management courses anymore.

VERY good point :D
Even when they were showing damien hardwick and how he pushes other players, they just HAD to show collingwood as the 'victims' a number of times. but when the situation was reversed collingwood werent in sight....

FOX league teams ****es all over the footy show for footy entertainment and comedic value.

Yeah...same as Jars458 with Fielke and Jars but nothing compares to the divers the ferals have.

I would say Brett Burton, He dives a bit, but it's hard to tell coz he has no sense of balance anyway, that he might be naturally falling anyway.

Exactly. Leon Davis is the king diver in the league.

Stiffy the Pies couldn't have any divers as MM called them cheats & said he wouldn't tolerate it. His players must be tripping up because of the poor surface on Victorian grounds ... though funny how it seems to be the same players who keep "tripping up" ;)

Well posted Stiffy.
On the issue of diving, I have no problem with it in general.
If a free is there it should be paid. If a player is hit in the face, it should be a free regardless of injury or lack of.
Diving has come about in all sports because unless you make it plainly obvious, chances are you wont get the free that you should.
Wanganeen has the ability to put himself in a position where he will get a free. That is definitely not cheating.

Diving is a problem when players totally stage for a free. IMO that does not happen as much as the media would like us to believe.
