Ah, thought this had been deleted or something.

Ok, a month in, here are my new stats:

Height: 180 cm
Weight: 66 kg
Vertical leap: 26 cm
Kick length out of 10 average: 40 m
Kick spray metres average from centre: 15 m
Max bench press weight 10 reps: 15 kg
How many push ups can you do: 22
How many chin ups can you do: 5
How many sit ups can you do: 73
How fast can you run the 4 km: 20:09 [My run is actually 4.2 km with steep up hills but gradual downhills, so it's probably a lot more energy draining than a standard 4 km run]

I think my original time for the 4 km run was wrong - obviously! :p - because there's no way I improved that much.

Killed yourself on the beep test yet?

Please do it. I like to think others have suffered as I have..

I love doing the beep test. I haven't done it in about a year, but the school runs it. Since I don't do P.E anymore (I'm going into year 12 next term) I don't get to do it anymore sadly.

I didn't do too bad when I did it.

The last beep test I did was voluntary. I was in the bottom PE class unfairly, chose not to go off and do skipping or whatever they did, did the beep test with the A class and lasted until about the top ten (class of 23) - I should have been around the B-C class group (I was in the E class).

After it I was excited because I'd been training for the Athletics Carnival and I wanted to see how fit I was.

Fitness is very very important, but bugger me at 66kg !

Pack weight on and stay fit IMHO.

No offence, but at 180cm and 66kg you may be more suited to endurance running ? 1500 up, 3000k prolly suit, maybe steeple chase with a good leap, than a contested physical sport.

Forget that! ... at 16y.o. your still growing, and in the right range ... you're not playing NRL!! ... in fact, everything else seems on track too ... looks to me like an ellusive winger or half back flanker in the making! :thumbsu:

I play in that area, too.

I play for Pittwater (they are the Tigers), but they are further up the coast. Mosman are really good but someone like Willoughby would be good for you.

Haha:D

I am very impressed little Stat:thumbsu:

For your age that run time is darned good achievement in 1 month of training!!!

If you just get into the habbit of regular training 3 times a week minimum the fitness part will make you more than adequately prepared in that area.

As several have said already you will need to find someone to show you proper kicking techniques and a few tips on marking. Handle the ball often.

If I were you I would PM PerthSwan to see if he can help you make contact with a club or two (and maybe their coach) and let em know what your doing to prepare and get their advice and maybe a private kick around session.

At your age fitness level is not the MOST important, once basic level of strength is achieved. Since you haven't played before basic skill development is important! Try and find a friend you can regularly have a kick with!!!

Well done. Keep it up. This will be fun:)

My Dad used to play (And was VERY good, just went on to do other stuff) and has offered to show me all the proper techniques for kicking, and all that, so I'll see how that goes.

Does Willoughby have an U18s?

And yeah, I know I'm a little on the skinny side and I must confess I haven't been to the gym tooo much, but next school term, my mates are keen on going as well so I'll probably start going multiple times a week.

FFS! you little bastard!!!!

Here i am thinking you are some sort of wannabe orphan! we have to adopt!

Get your ol' man training too! Sessions weekly!:D

Oh and create a BF account for Dad too!... we need to hear the TRUTH!:p

NO no no, hehe, he wasn't a PROFESSIONAL AFL player, but he played when he was younger and COULD have gone on to play professionally because he was good enough, he was just too short and at that time the shorter players weren't really a popular type.

thats what all of us say!:o

But... if he has played ... then listen !!!

I wanna go to your first game (make sure you PM me) and if you make a fist of it... I will barrack for your junior club!

good Luck!:thumbsu:

Heh I know, but he was actually good enough. I can't remember all of his acolades, but he was a VERY good footy player in the U18s. I think he was more interested in doing other stuff post-school, and his height kind of dissuaded him from getting involved in professional AFL.

Woah woah woah. You play for the Tigers?

What age? I played for Pittwater about 4-5 years ago. In under 15s and 16s. We had the worst team. It was pretty funny. I got the Rising Star award in under 15s, haha.

Who's your coach?
