I have him in the top 3 based off talent, but you never know with clubs needs with Cadman/Busslinger!Then he should be top 3. Love the suitcase, incredible player
I’m not saying they’re the same. And it’s the problem with involving a known product, because I do think there are other things at play with Stephenson.
But I think there is a similar question in what is Sheezel? Talented and doing what he wants at U18 level. But does it translate and if so, in what position? I’m not sure he’s a midfielder. So you do take a half forward top 3…
How fast is he compared to Sinn and Chesser? (neither of whom I am suggesting are midfielders).Yeah the explosiveness makes a lot of the shortcomings more acceptable for me, I'd hazard a guess he's got better burst and top speed than any midfielder in the league currently tbh. As long as majority of his kicks aren't direct turnovers he's still hurting the opposition

I agree with thatRankine would be my comparison.
I don't think the Suns drafted Rankine to be a midfielder though to be fair, similar to the Crows with Rachele, if there's a need in your list and there's a talent suitable for the pick clubs should just take that imo. Sheezel probably never becomes a full time midfielder, but if clubs see him as the third best prospect in the pool they're better off taking him than compromising for a lesser rated talent because they're a midfielderRankine would be my comparison.
Without any testing data for Chesser or Sinn I'd say yes, Tstatas had a 2.93 second 20m at the start of the year which would've pit him 6th overall in last year's combine resultsHow fast is he compared to Sinn and Chesser? (neither of whom I am suggesting are midfielders).
I totally disagree. Stephenson off field shenanigans is what’s hurt him along with his professionalism. The reason he was shafted out of Collingwood so quickly. I would put my money on sheezel being one of the most professional kids in this draft.Except it wasn’t a player comparison. It was a risk/reward comparison. And it’s not unfair - Stephenson had some of the most dominant U18 games I’ve seen. 30 touches and multiple goals. Same as Sheezel. And now Stephenson is struggling to nail down one position (for many different reasons). It’s possible Sheezel could fall into a similar situation.
So... a Cooper Sharman?Along with the likes of other agile KPFs in Harry Himmelberg and Nathan Kreuger.
I like Aaron Cadman. I think he'd be a good fit for North, and I'd advocate for GWS to take him with their first too. But I think one of his biggest strengths is his high floor compared to other KPPs. Might not become a star, but I'd back him to have a good career even if it's as a #2 forward. I do think Jeremy Cameron is a fair comparison, stylistically at least. But he doesn't have the same skills that makes Cameron dangerous up the ground. A Jeremy Cameron lite.
Here are the 2022 Morrish Medalists and Team of the Year for the NAB League.
Lachlan Cowan and Taj Campbell-Farrell tied with 18 votes. With 17 votes, Bailey Humphery came in third, and Will Ashcroft received 15 votes to come in fourth. Cadman received 14 votes, placing him fifth, and Harley Reid received 12 votes, placing him sixth. Surprisingly, Jhye Clark wasn't among the top 10.
Where is tipped to go pick wise?Lachie Cowan will be a very good player.
Probably 15-30.Where is tipped to go pick wise?
By gawd that's Tom McCallum's music!Would be shocked if he wasn't, $1.01 odds if the bookies had markets for it.
There's not really anyone else who'll realistically get picked up.Surely Cowan becomes the first Tassie boy picked.
AFL recruiters don't seem to agree with that given they have the say in who gets invited to the AFL Combines? There's not really anyone else who'll realistically get picked up.
Three more of Tasmania’s young stars will travel to Melbourne in October and move a step closer to their AFL dream after being invited to take part in pre-draft combines.
Seth Campbell (North Launceston/Burnie) has been added to the list of players invited to the NAB AFL National Draft Combine, joining fellow Tasmanians Lachie Cowan and Tom McCallum. In addition, Brandon Leary (North Launceston) and Cameron Owen (Clarence) have both been selected for the NAB AFL State Draft Combine.
McCallum and Campbell good chances, and Leary a decent chance. Owen project player at best. There's not really anyone else who'll realistically get picked up.
Waste of a first round pickIf freo lose lobb, I don’t really want us picking Jackson, I’d prefer to keep meek and go to the draft and pick up Lemmey with our first what are your thoughts on Lemmey?

Gosh darn it, is there any power forwards/Tall forwards around our pick if we don’t waste it on Jackson![]()
Lemmey just hasn't had a great year unfortunately, to the point where he might go undrafted completely, so you wouldn't have to use a first rounder on him if you want him. It's been a combination of not being able to get on the park and not really gripping games like he did as a bottom ager.
If I'm being optimistic, I don't really think you lose talent as a footballer, just form and confidence, so if a club backed themselves to help Lemmey find his confidence again then he's probably worth the risk given what he showed as a bottom ager, but it'd take a brave club imo
