Orson Welles seems like an historical figure to me let alone Hitler and Churchill but he's talking to Dick Cavett on a 70s talk show.

Likewise Edison, Einstein, Picasso, Astaire and Hitchcock.

HELL!
Even Dick Van Dyke was one I thought was worlds away from me.

Hitchcock died 11 years before I was born.

Hitchcock is another fascinating interview, seeing him interviewed in real life rather than just being an old historical director.

He puts me to sleep with his talking.

He'd do likewise to a glass eye.

Picasso’s last home is within 100 metres of my house.

I think the Roys got sick of that because in R5 they almost went scoreless (apparently the deepest into a match on record).

Twin actresses and former child/teenage stars Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were born on the 13th June 1986, the same date as fellow American actress Kat Dennings - and all three have played daughters of characters portrayed by the late Bob Saget.

For the Olsen twins this obviously in Full House where they shared the role of Michelle and Saget portrayed their father Danny, while for Kat Dennings this was in obscure sitcom 'Raising Dad' which only ran for one season in 2001-2002 before being cancelled.

The rear bottom fin of guppies is they way to tell the difference between male and female guppies.

American tennis legend John McEnroe won the US Open and Wimbledon in Men's Singles on a number of occasions, and while he did not win the French Open in Singles (he was runner-up in 1984), he did win it in mixed doubles with Mary Carillo in 1977 when both were still teenagers. He also enjoyed doubles success in other tournaments as well as in the Davis Cup.

The one Grand Slam tournament where success eluded McEnroe in either singles or doubles was the Australian Open, and this might not be as surprising as it sounds because McEnroe amazingly only contested the tournament five times in singles, two of these in the early 1990s when things didn't go very well in 1990 (to put it mildly) and again in 1992 when McEnroe did far better and reached the semi-finals.

I was just reading an article about mens tennis. While it is pretty obvious mens tennis has been dominated by a select few over the last 20 or so years, of the last 86 grand slam winners 85 of them have been European. Juan Martin Del Potro in 2009 was the last non European. US and Australian players have traditionally dominated tennis but the run of outs combined now stretches back to Andy Roddick at the 2003 US Open.
