Friday 22nd of March 5pm at Alberton Oval. Free Entry.

Hartlett and Atley are expected to be in the side. Jack Trengove didn't play last game for an unknown reason.

I reckon Sam Mayes will be the travelling emergency for the AFL side. Patmore will drop out due to his ACL injury, Broadbent out with a slight hammy.

SANFL listed player Levi Proude has yet to appear this pre-season. Dale Finnie is unsigned and it's unknown if he's still at the club.

Maggies Changes:
IN: Hartlett, Atley, Trengove
OUT: Mayes (AFL Emergency), Patmore(knee), Broadbent(hamstring tightness), Wong, Strange, Edwards, Makoi, Smith

Maggies Side:
F: Cox - Frampton - Johnson
HF: Woodcock - Hill - Farrell
C: Pudney - Atley - S.Gray
HB: Frederick - McKenzie - Hartlett
B: Corcoran - Howard - Garner
R: Ladhams - Sutcliffe (C) - Trengove
INT: Hewett - Appleton - Elsworthy - Mead

Insane that there are three Pre-Season Port vs. Crows games.
The odd game was that U-23 match. The preaseason Showdown is common fixture. Moreover, the reason behind this week's match is understandable. AFL season starts this weekend, and this game allows both Port and West Lakes reserve players to have a piece of action as well.

That’s a strong Magpies side. I feel like Sam Gray is going to be a real barometer for our fortunes at SANFL level. He’s quality at the level and it will say a lot about the form and fitness of our squad.

He’s a good SANFL player. As long as Ken finally realises he’s a ‘betweener’, that dominates at the lower level, but not good enough (if Port is doing well) at the higher.

Both AFL sides SANFL sides look good at the moment
Crows sanfl side could be

Wright Hunter Stengle
Gallucci Fogarty Davis
McHenry Wilson Mackay
Macpherson Hartigan Otten
Himmelberg Butts Sholl
O'Brien
Ellis-Yolmen
Poholke

Inter- Strachan, Macadam, Hamil + top ups.

Probably one or two held back for Saturdays AFL game

They need to scratch the AFL version of it. The U23 game was a great idea and with the week off before Round 1, traveling isn't an issue for the 2nd JLT.

Why isn't this game AFTER the AFL matches?

P.S.: Magpies (SANFL) and Crows (AFL), they both play next Friday. Still, a Saturday 7:30pm bounce-off time would have been enough for everyone to be well rested until then. Unless there is an impossibility for night games at Alberton, I don't see a reason.

The club doesn’t want a 6 day break and also yeah night games at Alberton are not possible. Too dark.
