Port Adelaide's plan to use jumpers similar to Collingwood

they are a different club

The argument is that you and your brainwashed fellow fans think it’s not different but one and the same

which is a joke
So in your head there's a grand conspiracy to defraud the footy community and cover up the existence of a secret second footy club? Like, what would be the point of that, you numpty?

Haha ...really?

You’re talking about the days when players wore Knick a bocker pants and hats on the ground during a game

it pre dates every league jumper design

What are you telling me for? You were the one who set the parameters to “since the day they were formed.”

the 150th anniversary celebration game that Koch invented to try and convince the rest of the AFL world that the Power are really The Port Adelaide Magpies in disguise.
You're a special type of stupid, aren't you?

And the AFL will always back CFC to have the right to exclusively wear black and friggin white strips

That’s cool. They can let Collingwood exclusively wear their black and white stripes.
They can also exclusively let us wear our black and white bars twice a year in a game between two SA sides.

Listen stupid ...In case you have reading and learning difficulties, it says they gave their blessing to your mob to wear the prison bars on one special occasion. One game. That’s it.

It also says there’s only room for one jumper with black and white stripes.
But we’ve worn it 5 times?

Well that’s not gunna happen is it petal

so prepare for disappointment

don’t be an idiot all your life ffs

You made a statement that was immediately proven false and I’m the idiot? Alrighty then.

I just gonna assume that you lick windows in your spare time and bid you goodnight.

I understand both arguments here (and quite honestly don't care as it's so stupid and there's 3000 people dying every day in India right now from COVID), but if we're being honest, intellectual property rights are a MASSIVE thing in any business.

There is a real reason why this is a sh*tfight, but honestly what I think it comes down to, is two very egotistic men in Kochy and Eddie, trying to get their own way.

Port Adelaide joined the AFL in 1997, winning a GF in 2004, whilst making another against us in 2007. They've been in the AFL for 24 years, and that's where their history starts and ends.

The SANFL wasn't a national competition that they joined, it was a 2nd's tier level comp, completely separate from the former VFL which had now transitioned to the AFL once all of the Eagles, Bears, Dockers and Crows joined its ranks. They joined as a teal, black and white side, and that's their AFL heritage.

There's not one other side - Eagles, Crows, Dockers, Bears (now Lions), trying to invoke their 2nd tier heritage/history by using their 2nd tier jumper - so why is Port so hell-bent on doing it?

I also say this from a position where I'm not being biased, as I conceive all Premierships prior to the VFL becoming the AFL as an official entity, as invalid when considering the current iteration of football history. We went from being a closed off Victorian competition, to a national one, and thus, it was no longer a statewide comp, but a country wide one.

As far as I'm concerned, we have 3 AFL Premierships, 6 VFL ones and 7 VFA ones. We don't have 16, we have 3. You guys don't have 37 or whatever it is, you have one. Carlton and Essendon don't have 16 a piece, they have 1 and 2 each respectively. Hawthorn have the most with 5 etc.

It even says as much in the first paragraph of the wiki page:

"Since its founding, the club has won an unequalled 36 SANFL premierships and 4 Championship of Australia titles,[3] in addition to an AFL Premiership in 2004.[4]"

So with all this said, why do you guys cling to a history so much that isn't even relevant to your AFL history? I don't really care whether you have the bars in showdowns or not, as it's such a nothing discussion in the scheme of things, but what I'm more interested in is why you as Port supporters invoke your SANFL history as your club history - when you only became part of the national comp when you joined in 1997?

P.S. If anyone wants to know what this is all really about, it's not heritage, it's not history, as always - it's money:

"Support for the guernsey remains extremely high, with a merchandise for a game against Carlton in 2013 generating over $500,000.[177] On 9 September 2020, it was revealed that memorabilia associated with the Prison Bar guernsey raised $2,000,000 for the club in 2020 and the Prison Bar guernsey itself was the highest selling piece of merchandise in the AFL that year."

Sweet dreams love.

Don’t forget to turn on your nightlight in case you need a wee in the middle of the night.

I don’t see why it can’t.

Much like Geelong and Carlton, It’s two different guernsey designs with the same colours.

you know I’m right

because all you and your little deluded port fans can do here is defend your clubs god given right to wear prison bar jumpers in the weakest of efforts

A superb summary of the conundrum that Port Power have created for themselves which is confusing their own supporters.

And you had a giant teal slash across your jumper that looked nothing like prison bars

now you want to bring back the bars
How can we “bring back the bars” if we were never the Magpies?

Well no I don’t think so my unhinged friend.

Yet you’re the one throwing around insults, and having this superiority complex because you still think it’s the ******* VFL.

To be fair, I don't disagree as there's been some pretty incendiary rhetoric, however...aren't you guys doing the same by still thinking it's the SANFL with this whole Magpies/Port Adelaide conflation of history?

Do you see the contradiction here?

You can't say it's the AFL and no longer the VFL, but then also say the SANFL is somehow still relevant. Doesn't work that way. It's one or the other.
