Brad has extremely strong hands over head. As good as any player of his size. But he’s a different sort of athlete to Brett and only lacks Brett’s vertical leap at the ball.

I think so too, I'm just going on feel that he's not as reliable as Brett. That's my observation, I could be wrong.

Piss off all 4 of them and throw in Gold Coast as a bonus.
Piss off 3 Vic clubs and you make the Vic clubs stronger in the long run.

The Vic economy is booming and has been population wise for the last 8 to 10 years. Victoria population is now 6.5m and greater Melbourne now 4.8m and growing faster than elsewhere in Oz both % wise and absolute numbers.

Yes get rid of 3 clubs, those fans don't move to the other Vic 7 clubs, and if they are relocated most will keep some allegiance to the "new moved" club, but the corporate $$ in Vic gets split 7 ways rather than 10 ways.

It wont greatly change the Vic centric AFL Commission and AFL executives. It wont be a simple equation of less Vic teams, less Vic power.

I reckon Brad needs his eyes checked. Some of his dropped marks are because he gets his hands in the wrong shape to take a mark. I reckon it could be eye related.

I had a strong suspicion since mid 2016 that Charlie's marking was greatly affected by his eyesight and it was finally confirmed last year when he was on 7's Game Day and he admitted he was blind as a bat and a Brisbane optometrist has worked with him getting the right contacts and glasses, starting a couple of years after he started playing at GC.

I know someone who lost almost 40% vision in one eye in less than 3 months. Ebo might not have lost eyesight that quickly, but lose 20% over a year or two and it has to have an impact on your marking.

What's there to acclimatize in Alice? A Darwin side will probably play 8 and 3 games at the 2 venues. Most Darwin games will be night after April, but day games in March and April wouldn't be that different heat wise, to those down south, east or west.
There's quite a big temp difference. Not sure that too many teams would be keen.

Middle of southern winter I agree and that's why they have night games in Darwin. If you play 3 home games in Alice, play them in June and July as the day time temperature is low to mid 20's and play 3 or 4 night games in Darwin. The Darwin team will be effected by having to play in freezing cold (for them) Melbourne, Tassie and SA.

Mind you, its 30 years before Darwin have a big enough population to justify an AFL team, so who knows what the temperature will be like then.

Move Norf to Kangaroo Island. The only way to see their games is via. ferry, which won't bother their 12 supporters too much.

This implies the Vic clubs are equal. North, Melbourne, St. Kilda and Bulldogs get the scraps left from the big 5 plus Geelong (a special, marginal seat largess case). They are well aware off-field they are second class citizens in Victoria, but generally do as the big clubs want, because the big clubs ensure they remain (or at least remain in Victoria). So we have, by and large, 6 clubs with 10 votes.

Piss off 3 Vic clubs and the sponsorship money isn't going to get that much more for those remaining (given lots of sponsors are national, so some would migrate (if relocated) or switch (if new clubs) with those 3 clubs going). I'll take 7 votes of 18 over 10 of 18 for it not being so Vic centric though. They'd have to sell any changes to at least a third of the non-Vic clubs to get things done. No longer the fait accompli of "It's happening whether you like it or not".

The clubs aren't obviously equal, but the 7 remaining clubs will fill in the vacuum. It means the kids will grow up having to find a team to barrack for, out of 7 not 10 if they are attracted to a local team.

It means those government, AFL and business resources will be moved from 10 teams to the 7 teams. Bottom line, even if the 3 teams effectively take up only the resources that make the Vic market like 1.5 of the bigger teams, those resources of 1.5 teams in the long run get divided up between 7 teams.

Financially and support wise yes, but that's not really an issue. 7 strong Vic clubs is still better than 10 night quite as strong, plus some weak Vic clubs, as far as AFL policy goes.

Aside from the clangers/clearances things, I also liked when he claimed Pittard must be in our best 22 because we have spuds like Dan Houston getting a game for us. Imagine having that little of an idea about football.

Ah well, they'll be fine once they get Josh Kelly.

Houston vs Pittard?

One of those players rarely makes a mistake. The other rarely does anything right.

“The crows are most vulnerable when they’re expected to win” - Graham Cornes.

Such a coaching mastermind. Forget the fact Betts is cooked, that Walker is and always has been a B-Grader, that their midfield is full of one paced accumulators that don’t damage the opposition, that Pyke is just as predictable as his mentor Neil Craig. Nah, it’s all in their heads.

Nevermind the fact that Graham is part of the propaganda machine that constantly pumps their tyres and makes them think they're better than they are.

He'll have exactly two good games this year and I think we know which ones those will be.

Did you hear him say our targeting of Gawn wasn't in the spirit of the game as well haha.

Jonas $2000k fine rough conduct against Gawn. Tommy will have to temper himself a bit I think.

Rough conduct. I'm generally not one of these people who pines for "the good old days" of biffo and what not, but the game is losing the plot trying to stamp out a bit of intimidation. Gawn didn't get hurt, and likely would be feeling a bit embarrassed today with the way he capitulated under pressure. This is part of football.

Gra Gra used to enjoy a round arm to the gob from our blokes.

Maybe that’s the spirit he longs for?

Jonas did exactly what was expected of him. Help soften their big bloke up. He won’t need to do it every week but I hope he does do it when we need it.

**** it I’ll chip in for the fine.

Hard to say if Jonas went too far without knowing exactly what he did.

It’s not the fines I’m worried about , it’s suspensions.

Dropped the giant soft**** with a shiv to the ribs.

Prison rules from Tommy

He had them check over the off-season and now wears contacts. He first noticed the problem in night games when he couldn't distinguish which of his teammates was kicking to him.

Just bumped Gawn off the ball, same as Liam Jones did to Riewoldt on Thursday night. Not much in it, but it knocked the stuffing out of Gawn. Expecting us to do similar to Cripps this week.
