Melbourne aren’t working hard enough.

A 50 from centre wing that ends up with a poor entry and a 2 on 1 against Melbourne on top of the square.... who was running back?

The commentators must have been told not to criticize the umps anymore. Well stuff watching anymore of this rubbish. Funny cause i used to watch more than just our games and the last few years i barely watch any footy other than ours, is the direction Gil and his flogs are taking the game.
Yep

Melbourne are like Port 2018. Absolutely no urgency and when they do have it they play along the boundary line and it goes out because their skills are putrid.

Who was alive and watching the VFL in the 70's? Did the game feel over umpired? For the majority of the 70's, the average FF (Free For) per game was in the 40's, before it started to drop to a low of 14.8 in 2004 and now rising at around the 20mark.

I feel the umpires are too involved today (compared to 15-20yrs ago, but how involved were they in the 70's?

Also... can anyone inform how there is a difference in FF and FA? So far this year there has been 1780 FF and 1777 FA... where did the 3 discrepancy come from? Every year by the looks of it has a discrepency, but how?

I'd give Syd Stack the Prison Bars at training this week if he was one of ours.

How he couldn't even get picked up as a rookie has me buggered. Can we swap Tobin Cox for him?

Melbourne have to learn how to forward in 12 minutes.. ain't happening Duck

It's a tragedy that Sack doesn't play for Sydney.

Weideman not doing himself and his request for 650K any favours tonight.

Barely worth 1/3 of that.
IYeah, its a good thing they still have Watts and Hogan to keep him accountable and offer an alternative.

I don't know about you guys but I'd wind up the Dees before I got rid of Norff.

Was he forced to retire?

He was 35.75 years old when he played his last game and even the umpires stopped giving him votes. They loved him, but his last 4 seasons he polled 2 (2012), 4 (2013), 0 (2014) and 1 vote in 2015.

He may have squeezed one more year out but he was well past peak Goodes when he quit. I have no doubt the taunts made him question going thru the slog of one more preseason, but also what was the contract value Sydney were prepared to give an almost 36 year old?

Yep. Many Sydney fans were bemoaning his selection each week for the last year or two.

Melbourne won 2 finals last year. And made a prelim final.Even had a run of 6 or 7 wins in a row.Not sure why Goodwin made all these changes over the summer.
