I thought SafeWork
SA had already looked into this in 2018? Must’ve been a cursory glance.

Every time a Victorian coach complains there’s a Spanish Inquisition

I think the umpires are being emasculated from the top imo. Especially with the holding of the ball decision you have to give them the rules and allow them to interpret the game on the field. There is not enough room to allow them to read the spirit of the game and as a result the pressure from the top is stifling their capacity on the ground. Its very difficult to umpire with one eye on the play and one eye on your masters.

The umpiring last night was atrocious....Crows benefited mostly but those umps do need a good kick up the ass or sent to div6 ammos..

The umpires need consistent leadership and direction... continually being told different instruction on how to 'interpret' rules from week to week by people who have never blown a whistle, is to their detriment as much as the game. Fix that first then worry about the individual performances.

So the AFL made a knee jerk "adjustment" to the HTB rule after Clarkson complained and now Ratten has complained they are going to make another knee jerk "adjustment". Just leave the fecking rules alone you morons.

I can't think of another sport in the world that brings in so many rule changes that actually make the game worse.

While simultaneously boasting that it’s the greatest game on earth.

When’s the last time basketball or soccer — the two most universally-beloved games on the planet — completely overhauled its rules from week-to-week and year-on-year because they’re pathologically concerned about the product. Or aesthetic. Or onfield direction.

It’s mental.
