Is he an all time great coach then? If he can't rebuild his own list?

No

There will always be question marks over it for me.

Had the insane never to be repeated pick 1 priority picks afforded to them twice including delivering them generational stars and some of the most favourable umpiring draws and a raft of other leg ups from afl house.

If he can’t build a list without those he has to be judged on that. He doesn’t even look willing to try.

Try to convince me any club in the afl can’t turn Roughead, Franklin, the sympathetic ear of the head of the league and the worst umpiring disparity the league has ever seen (unsociable football lol) into success.

At the height of their powers Cornes couldn’t tap Mitchell without getting a game but hodge and Lewis were allowed stuff that wouldn’t be okay in a mma match.

That their cheating got called “unsociable football” to try to pass it off as anything other than a team that was allowed to play to a different rulebook showed how the afl is a Mickey Mouse competition and is a blight on this game.

Absolutely if clarko can’t rebuild this team I will mark down his success.

The 2001 1st Pick Priority was actually Fremantle's pick that they traded to Hawthorn for Trent Croad and Luke McPharlin.

They lost a prelim that year.

My bad, didn't realise they had another lot of the Franklin Roughead gains.

They did kind of blow the second draft with Xavier Ellis and Beau Dowler when they could've had Pendlebury, Josh Kennedy or Paddy Ryder.

Worst umpiring disparity?

Surely nothing compared to Wet Toast or Bullflogs.

West coast have a disparity in free kick differential

Hawthorn had a disparity in that they were allowed to bend the rules, influence the rules, or in some cases make up entirely new ones.

The franklin “natural arc” anyone?

A rule blinked into existence because it suited hawthorn.

They were awarded a start of first round priority pick twice.

I’m not counting picks traded in.
Yeah, see my edit. I forgot had a second lot after Franklin/Roughead.

They won 9 games over those two seasons. Our period from 11-12 was worse, and we couldn't even end up with a top 5 pick because of the allowances given to Gold Coast and GWS.
