John Olsen - forced to resign as Premier because he lied to State Parliament but good enough to become the front man for the Crows.

I bet his barefoot skiing skills tipped the job in his favour. The crows being the downhill skiing experts and all.
You missed a key point.
He also skipped town afterwards.

Olsen resigned as Premier in October 2001 following a finding by a government inquiry that that he had given ‘misleading, inaccurate and dishonest’ evidence to an earlier inquiry into his negotiations with the electronics company Motorola while he was Industry Minister in 1994.

Essendon are literally employing a Bay 13 flog to manage their list and have been doing so for years. It's honestly ridiculous.

Fingers crossed Saad ends up in the PSD.

didn’t he get a cushy job as SA agent general afterwards?

If only they asked him what he knew about the state bank pre 1990?
Nah it was Howard government who gave him the job as Australian Consul General in LA a couple of months after the 2002 state election after he retired from politics at the election.

He created the G'day USA week long Oz promotion festival. Started as G'day LA before spreading to other cities and is still an annual event.

When his 5 year term was up Downer got him the gig as Consul General in New York.

The team that brought you Tippetgate and The Camp combines with the director of The Motorola Affair and Liar Liar Down Under to bring you the latest epic blockbuster Assault On The Parklands.

As tacky and cringe worthy as they sound, those G'day USA type events seem to have been widely successful. Olsen, for all his skuldugfery is no fool. I wouldn't be so dismissive of him. As I said earlier, he became National President of the Liberal Party a couple of months ago, his connections are vast and powerful.

Parklands? Not sure, however this guy and the club would have a venue/location already earmarked no doubt, he was brought in to work their way through it.

As I said in an earlier post, I suspect Olsen was brought in because they are targeting a location within Adelaide Oval's existing footprint.

Where though?
If they can squeeze a hotel into the eastern stand I'm sure they find a spot to put a Camry Crows HQ. There are areas on the western side that they can probably find a way to exploit. Village Green South, Favell-Dansie Indoor Centre, the outdoor practice net area adjacent to the Favell-Dansie Indoor Centre, Village Green North (doesn't need to be that big).
