I've been saying it for years they still think it's the VFL over there. Think it's more obvious than ever now.
Carey was saying just that on "Talking Footy" when they were discussing Eric Hipwood. But even when he brought it up he acted like it was no big thing.

Collingwood's Jack Crisp gets my ANZAC day medal - he was my only Ultimate Footy team player today against 5 players for my opponent. I was only 40-odd points up at 3QT after starting the day over 200 ahead, but hung on to win by 15 points. Crisp scored 113 points - his best so far this year :clapping:

What did you score, out of interest?

Provided there's no rank score adjustments, I just won my Grand Final rematch 1912-1908 (8-team league).

With scores like that you must be in a completely different competition to the one I'm in. Mine's the one on The Age's Real Footy website - the point scoring is as per the AFL.com.au match centre and the average team score is in the 1450 - 1550 range. My team won 1452 to 1437 this round.

Well after watching more than my normal amount of footy this weekend i have come to the conclusion that Port are a lot better than a big chuck of teams in this competition. We will play finals this year no problems.

Providing we win the games we should, the carlton game was one of them. Our next game is another one we should win....

Joe Daniher must be a frustrating player for Essendon fans. Played like Buddy Franklin today. If only he could produce that sort of football on a more regular basis.

There was a passage of play he looked every part of a Buddy Franklin.... I think he will improve this year and wouldn't surprise me if he win the B&F.

Imagine if they didn't start 4 goals down at QT
Then spent all of their tickets catching up
Or essendon are just shit and collingwood are more shit.

The game was won after Adams missed a sitter just before 3qtr time to take it into the break will all the momentum and kicked another point not long into the 4th. If they slot those two they get in front and put essendon under some serious pressure and give themselves a chance.

Adams miss (75-66)
3qtr time
Grundy miss (75-67)
Fantasia goals (81-67)
Elliot miss (81-68)
Green goals (87-68)

2 goals 4 (collingwood) to 4 goals 1 (essendon) in the last quarter as well.

Even with that collingwood kicked 5 consecutive behinds in the 2nd quarter bookended by two collingwood goal.

The game was far from over at quarter time, but collingwood being the worst forward line in the last 20 years was the reason Essendon won.

Ah ok, yeah I'm in UF via The Age using that scoring system but it sounds as if the league setups are completely different.

Marley Williams was equal 5th in Collingwoods b&f in 2015. A year later he is traded to North for pick 105, pushed out by Ramsay and Maynard. North get an elite shut down small for free.

?

Williams is an excellent competitor, but quite possibly the most unreliable disposer of a football in the AFL.

I can't help but feel the general standard of football is down this year. With so many teams down on form and looking fairly lacklustre, it'll come down to the most consistent, but not outstanding team to win the whole thing. I reckon this is why the fairly average Crows look a million bucks and Geelong and Richmond are undefeated so far.
I'm confident that if we keep grinding away and are there at the pointy end, we could cause some real damage come finals time.

Treloar was poor in the first when the game was won

Treloar wasn't even the one keeping them in the game, it was D Wells who stood up for them when he was moved into the middle.
If Buckley had started Wells in the middle in the 1st qtr it probably would've been a different game.

Nah we have been too caught up in the season + lack of good and realistic viable trade targets on the immediate horizon + not having a first round pick would explain the late interest. Start one.
I was just wondering as some Norf blokes reckon our salary cap is overflowing so we're ditching trengrove

Salary cap is about to rise by $2m so we can keep everyone - will not be able to trade anyone in unless we trade out a player we have overpaid - Lobbe or Hartlett.

Dare to dream.
