Just as well our feral supporters wouldn't have the wit or wherewithal to try this stunt huh?

AFL (ie Essendon) fan slammed for posing as disabled for better seat

AN AFL fan was attacked online after boasting about pretending to be disabled to get better seats for a bargain price.

The footy supporter shared a photo taken from a mobility scooter positioned with a great view of Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium on Reddit. “Protip: hiring a mobility scooter and buying a $17 standing ticket at Etihad gets you in a $70 seats,” he wrote.

But other users of the social media site were disgusted. “Letting go of human decency: priceless,” one wrote.

So for all the talk about our so called easy draw, we played top 8 teams 10 times, the Crows, Geelong, West Coast 9 times, Essendon, Sydney and Richmond 8 times. Only GWS has played more fellow top 8 teams than us with 11.

So we only played 2x Top 8 teams twice, one of them being West Coast who barely made it.

We also played 13th, 17th and 18th twice.

Wouldn't exactly call it a hard draw.

Lol Constanza.

Our ladder position combined with our record against the top 8 sides have created a perception that we've had an 'easy draw'. The reality is we've just been the only team in the competition this year who has consistently beaten the bottom sides.

Yet being able to consistently win those games is counted as a negative!

I find it difficult to justify 4 years of no finals, and if anything, Collingwood have been regressing every year. Gold Coast didn't even cut McKenna any slack after 4 years of no finals despite the list profile he had for the majority of it.

I was at the game against Collingwood at the MCG in Round 14 and found it hard to watch because the way they played that day was insulting.

One for the stat books, Buckley is now the 11th coach in VFL/AFL history to still be coach after missing finals for 4 consecutive years.

It's pretty funny how Collingwood, the biggest sporting club in Australia, is run more like a family business than a professional organisation operating in a highly competitive industry. In the end, Eddie just couldn't let go of his favourite son.
And he won't admit he got the succession plan wrong.

Across the competition or just for Collingwood?

I think you meant to post this on the Dalek thread.

It's actually a great metaphor for the rest of Australia really

Sam Gray and Buddy Franklin both kicked scores high enough in R23 that their teams would have won even if no-one else in the team had scored. That can't have happened too often in one round. Sammy (39 points) almost doubled Gold Coast's 20 points. Buddy kicked (62 points) to Carlton's 57 points.

Their playing group certainly put on a good show on Saturday night to ensure they attract the best possible candidate.
Nah. It's a great job for a coach. Low expectations (especially if Ablett leaves). Just improve from bottom 2 to top 10 and just about ensured a second big contract. The AFL will throw resources (possibly a Priority pick, but there's already the academy) at you to have some success.

With Ablett gone, a new coach would go more the GWS route of a few more experienced hard nuts to support the younger players. GWS level isn't realistic, but piss off Jr and his attitude and there's enough there to not be bottom 4.

even Liverpool would've beat Gold Coast on the weekend 4-3

Competent clubs don't just sack coaches anymore. Anyone who watched the Open Mike special on Richmond a few years ago would know why, how damaging that can be. If a coach has no traction with the players fine, but Buckley clearly has. They made the right call.

Not so sure it will work like that. As Eade has made public, he underestimated just what a basket case the club is. In his words he had inherited a s**t sandwich.

They lost patience with McKenna after 4 years and no finals and were even quicker to pull the trigger on Eade not extending his initial 3 year contract. Any potential first time senior coach that is currently an assistant at another AFL club would be crazy to take on the poison chalice that is the Gold Coast Suns. They are likely to get another former senior coach like Eade who has been unable to get a senior gig anywhere else or else promote Solomon from within.
