Yeah Robbo never mind the fact that Paddy was head and shoulders the best ruck when it comes to influence outside the ruck inside 50's, goals, disposals etc, cheers for letting your Essendon bias ruin what is a great moment for a player who had an amazing season you flog.

Ditto his rant about Docherty's inclusion & Tuohy getting overlooked, Doc had an incredible year way better than Hibberd.

I mean. People like Gerard Healy get gigs. Who the **** likes Gerard Healy? Anyone? No.

In fact, the number of professional callers is close to zero. Stop ****ing giving jobs to brainless ********* fresh out of the game (or 50 million years out of the game) and employ proper callers.

So immensely sick of this shithole competition and the associated boys club media, selection panels and whatever else.

Imagine being a woman working in that proverbial gloryhole.

There would be no week without games. This should have been done ages ago...

Here's an idea:

Play a 23 round H&A season.
The teams are ranked based on the number of wins and scoring percentage.
The team ranked 1st receives a minor accolade in the form of a trophy.
The 8 top teams are eligible to play in the Finals Series.
(A bye week is possible between H&A and Finals Series but not necessary)
5th plays 8th and 6th plays 7th in Elimination Finals
1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd in Qualifying Finals
The winners of the two Elimination Finals play the losers of the two Qualifying Finals in two Semi Finals.
The winners of the Qualifying Finals each go through to Preliminary Finals, with their opponents being the winners of the Semi Finals.
The winners of the Preliminary Finals play off against each other in a Grand Final.
The winner of the Grand Final is proclaimed the Premier Club for that year and given a Premiership Trophy.

It's radical, I know, but I have a hunch it might just work.

Fantastic idea! I am not sure why the semifinals are called preliminary finals, and what is called semifinals are no semifinal at all, but the structure is great.

By the way, the "Wild Card Week" suggested before wouldn't change this structure whatsoever. It would only fill the current void between Round 23 and the Qualifying/Elimination Finals.
