Saints and Lions I'd be sad to see the decline of, Carlton have done everything to themselves, they have had every advantage possible and blown it. They are the kid who goes to St. Peter's, has a guaranteed job in daddies law firm and still ends up a smack head.

I'd be sad to see the remnant of the Bears and Fitzroy disappear, but strangely not so much the Brisbane Lions themselves.

I like the Saints, my 'second team' if you subscribe to such a thing.

The do suck a lot, but IMO have been more relevant in the AFL era than Melbourne, Bulldogs, and considering their 'small club' status haven't been much worse than Bombers, Carlton, Richmond.

The record won't say that, but sometimes you get lucky and sometimes unlucky. St Kilda have found themselves very unlucky in key moments.

Apart from the Richmond v West Coast game, I cannot see any team in the eight losing next week. Geelong have Essendon, Adelaide the Bulldogs(not at Etihad), Hawthorn have Brisbane, Sydney have Freo and we have Gold Coast.

They’re named after a burb that’s named after a boat that’s named after a rock off the Scottish Coast that was named by drunken sailors in many languages over a millennium, resulting in the phrase “St Kilda” that doesn’t actually mean “Saint Kilda” at all.

Had no idea. Thanks for that.

After reading this I went to Wikipedia to read a bit more about it. Coincidentally, while watching Shetland on Netflix. So quite fitting.

Lou Codge is an awful, awful special comments man. Prepping this guy for a permanent future role in the media is the biggest, worst example of jobs for the boys I can remember. He's an idiot.

I glanced Ch 7's Game Day on mute and saw a title 'Hodge in Brisbane', like it was a regular segment of the show where they update the viewers on his life in QLD.

Then a few week's back a journo asked Fagan in the presser whether he was catching up with Hawthorn players when he was in Melbourne. Fagan rightly gave him a confused look and said 'why would I... I'm coach of Brisbane'

It's like the Melbourne media have such little respect for QLD football that the only way they can muster any interest is to relate it back to Victorian ties and awe at the 'Hawthorn mystique'.

No doubt already mentioned in here but Brendon Bolton abused a bombers player at three quarter time yesterday. I look forward to his 1 game suspension which is what Chad Cornes got 2 weeks ago for swearing at Goldstein. Kane has suggested as such. I love Kornes the media personality.
