For what it's worth. This is bullshit. He'll stay and they'll also land Jeremy. Other journalists were saying Jeremy was house shopping in Adelaide this week. No one has NFI.
I guess he will be over the moon that his brother is enticed over here for double what they have paid Mitch.

Yeh but its fun...and Fages is still a douche.

I simply cannot see the AFC paying McGovern (the good one) anything even in the ballpark adjacent to what he's worth.

What's the interesting factor here is perhaps Jeremy was in negotiations with the crows and he passed on the figures to Mitch and now they've exposed the sweet nothings they told Mitch.

Got to love the crows and their treatment towards their star players.

That man is one strange unit. Who actually talks like that?

Smarmy journeyman executives who grew up nerds and overcompensate on ostentatious masculinity as a result.

A poster on the Adelaide board that has had strong inside mail in the past was asked if the rumour was true and to come out and say so if it was a load of shit, or stay silent if the club was in serious trouble.

His response?

Ok, I'll stay silent.

He also reckons that none of the players get on with Pyke. Someone said that McGovern (Shooter) gets on really well with Pyke, and he was like 'Does he?' and then when pressed about who actually gets on with him, his response was 'I'm sure his family gets on well with him.'

Also been confirmed by the people who run their podcast that they had heard that McGovern wants out.

This just keeps getting better and better. Adelaide imploding and Port winning the flag would be soooo much fun.

McGoverns manager has denied it...what a surprise...but I do like the part where he says we've all heard that players are looking to get out of Adelaide....LOLOLOLOL!!

McGovern’s manager Colin Young told The Advertiser on Monday night: “Mitch has not indicated that. We’ve all heard in the past two weeks that players are looking to get out of Adelaide, but to put Mitch McGovern in that group is ridiculous.”
Motlop, what have you done?!

Don't be greedy. I'd settle for one of those two. I'd have to think hard about which one!

Isn’t this collective minds stuff Burton’s baby? Would be amusing if they decided to give him the sack.

They know that if at any point they stop drinking the koolaid, question anything, or don't follow the group think that they will be cast out and forgotten about.
The players have no buy in, in part because of their separation from their fans. Building a real (not a Fawn over) connection between players and fans is a two way deal. There’s no chance for Adelaide players to interact with crows fans outside carefully controlled events. Of course the players don’t give a shit, the plebs truly are like patrons at a play. Adelaide haven’t twigged the benefits to player retention of players being human beings to the fans, not gods. Of course that runs counter to the carefully controlled script everyone is issued each morning.

Players also don’t buy in as it being more then a pay check, as unless they’re working in the media, or get a mates job at the club, once they retire, they largely fall off the cliff, as far as Adelaide is concerned. There’s no club rooms for past and current players to mingle. Or for past players to gather themselves or them interact with the fans. The likes of Ginever, Philips or Eberts equivalents (such as they’d be) amongst Adelaide’s past players causally chattng to Adelaide fans outside a special event is anathema all around that club. Our players all stop playing for the club, but unless they are the exceedingly rare ones to shit the bed on the way out (only Chaplin and Stevens spring to mind), even those who stopped playing by moving elsewhere are welcomed back by club and fans post career.

Why would I care for an employer who obviously didn’t give a shit about me as a person? I wouldn’t and of course most Adelaide players don’t, except those who really love the over the top adulation.

A few crows fans claiming there are AFC shills on their board and social media who are leaping to the club's defence but have low post counts and fake profiles. Would align with their general policy of fake members and fake Facebook likes.

Whenever his wife takes the kids out for the afternoon I reckon he'd throw on Bob Seger's 'Old Time Rock and Roll' and do that dance from Risky Business in the loungeroom.

That ****ing song.

I always wondered what sort of campaigner would like it. Now I have the answer.
