6 wins and no losses in games 13 points or less for Geelong (plus another couple 20 or less).
thats the difference between top 4 and battling for an 8 spot.

Still.

GWS nearly made me eat my words. After Geelong started the last quarter and stretched their lead I thought GWS could get to 20 points at the best. As it was they would have got to 1 point if that last shot from Boyd had been a goal. And from there they could have even won. Must be some weird angle on that goal as even the commentators thought it was through.

In one of our premiership years(can't remember exactly which one but it was the Tim Evans years) we won 7 games by under 16. If we'd lost them we wouldn't even have made the finals.

Yay, tipping sorta redeemed for this round.

Do i change my tips from Essendont to the Bulldogs? it seems to be one of those rounds.

They have a number of talented youngsters coming through who could be as good in 2-3 years.

Yes, but enough about GWS.

Geelong are a bit of a mystery. Very clever campaigners in charge of that mob.

Saw some very good signs from the Giants. They have some tasty talent there.

Heres the problem for them (and the AFL) there aint enough game-winning talent at this level for 18 teams.

These blokes are going to bail on GWS for Melbourne money, Perth poon-tang and Adelaide.... Oval?

The orange and charcoal (pfft hahaha) can't afford all of these guys.

My tipping has been so bad this year, that I'm beyond caring. So I'll be happy with 2 out of 5 this weekend: just as long as Port gets up tomorrow!!!!!

Geez how disgraceful have the crowds been so far this week... Once again it will be relied upon AO crowd to boost the numbers

I ******* hate GWS. Not in a 'they are going to be good' but in a 'you guys have been given everything, and you're pissing it up the wall like a bunch of flogs'.

Quoted for so much truth. We're talking Trigg levels of incompetence at GWS since they started.

The two teams tonight

GEELONG - 126.2 games on average, 26 average age

GWS - 56.5 games on average, 21 average age

How much longer are Geelong are going to milk their 200+ gamers?

As long as they can. They keep defying gravity. The danger is that the longer they delay the slide, the worse it will be.

- Mick Malthouse storming out of his post-match conference on Friday night after Channel 7 journo Mark Stevens asked him about his trying week.

Just saw the footage on Offsiders. Cracked me up.

That's gold, Micky. Gold!

It's not just luck that Geelong have won all of those close games. It's their edge in quality and experience which gets them over the line more often than not in those scenarios. They are no longer capable of outplaying teams for full games but they can still scrap and fight for wins with the best of them. Eventually, they won't even be able to do that, but it's a credit to them that they are still up there despite playing nowhere near the level they were once capable of.
