I thought the afl brought in a 6 month payout clause for clubs sacking coaches. Or was that only clubs receiving afl assistance?

It applies for all contracts signed from 2020 is my understanding. Think Simpson's pre-dates that.I thought the afl brought in a 6 month payout clause for clubs sacking coaches. Or was that only clubs receiving afl assistance?
Not if they wear the brown shorts, no.If Ben Keays plays for Hawthorn, does anyone notice?

It also makes a bit more senses why the club said they wouldnt sack Hinkley last year.Interesting stuff. And highlights why coach contracts (and extensions) need more careful scrutiny.
Although I had to laugh at the rubberiness of Tom Browne's calculations.
He admits that he is only guessing at the salary payments (and terms) remaining on Simpson's contract but nevertheless uses it ($2.5m) as the base number to which he then applies the 200% luxury tax($4.5m) should WCE terminate Simpson's contract - coming up with that staggering $7m figure that becomes 'the story'.
The 200% multiplier is the key figure here. And where I reckon the focus should have been rather than a made up guestimate of Simpson's Salary. But they can't help themselves I guess.
What is saving Simpson of course is just how rich the West Coast Eagles are and how much they underpin the finances of their owner - the WA Football Commission. Rest assured that if a an AFL owned team like Gold Coast or Port or an AFL financially dependent team like St Kilda put in a string of performances like West Coast have under his coaching he would have been gone on Monday morning, regardless of the headline payout figure.
Are they EVER going to induct Timmy Evans?Graham Cornes who is a selector said South Australians will be induced. Plural.
We know Bruce gets a gig in media section Richard Goyder announced it in March at the AFL AGM.
Whately said a South Aussie from a centary ago also goes in. Pretty sure that is North and state ruckman Tom Leahy. Won the Magarey in 1913 and was a dominate ruck in state games especially carnivals. If they had All Oz sides selectted at national carnivals before 1953 he would have made a couple from all I have read over the years.
Rucci and North Adelaide have had a 25 year campaign to get him in.
Edit knew he played about 30 state games, its 31 according to his wiki page but forgot he played 58 games for Westies to go with 111 for North.
Bruce has leukaemiaView attachment 1723714
I know Dipper has been unwell of late, but is Bruce still alive? Hard to tell from this pic.

Yeah great stuff. Maybe next week he can tip a disabled man out of his wheelchair.Just wanna say I think Ben Keays ripping off Mason Cox's glasses was brilliant!!
First one was the Ben Keays Accident, second one was the Ben Keays Incident.Lol how is the "ben keays incident" him shitting his own dacks and not him ripping the eye wear off another player
One day. He is the last of the 1000 goalkickers from the big 3 state leagues who hasnt been inducted. Think he had a falling out with Port so we might not be pushing too hard. Are they EVER going to induct Timmy Evans?
