I'll be angry if the Crows win, sure. Angry that our own Club has self-destructed in the 7 years since they were spooners, instead of going for the jugular and making it clear who the Pride of SA really is.

On-field, Koch and co leave us in a worse state than we were in 2012. A premiership down the road just makes it that much harder for us to re-establish ourselves.

EDIT: Apologies, it's five years since they were last. Makes it worse, really.

With a grand final appearance the season prior to the finals drought. Would be an extraordinary achievement if they pull it off.

I’ll also add that they got rid of the people they needed to, they brought in people from outside the club, and they were ruthless in sticking to the standards they set.

Luck plays a part but their leadership has put them in a position to capitalise on whatever luck comes their way. It would not surprise me if they do nab NWM because they’re relentless at not taking no for an answer.

They've still got to get the job done but they've put themselves into a very good position.

Looking at that cycle and it looks almost like it's been planned and not just relying on luck or just waiting for it to happen.

They mustn't realise that AFL is a tough competition and someone has to lose.

Playing an injury riddled/ checked out Port plus Norf and West coast twice gives you 6 wins with some healthy %.
Not saying it’s the be all end all but definitely good for the confidence
That along with a good run of injuries plus a massive home ground umpire advantage it would be hard not to be playing finals in this comp.
Still don’t believe they can win the flag as the Grand final isn’t played at Adelaide Oval.

Lets also not pretend that Adelaide have reinvented the wheel here. Theyve been shit for almost a decade, had a raft of very high draft picks because of it, won a spoon and recruited some lifelong crow supporting elite players as well. Its a cyclical league, their turn was always going to come again. The Essendons/Carltons/Norths who perpetually blow their rebuilds aren’t the norm

A few days to enjoy it? What are you on about? You celebrate all summer.

These days you're almost immediately into thinking about the next year. Trade period starts within days, then the draft.

Clubs have no time to rest on their laurels. Even in 2004 Carr leaving was a huge distraction.

If you want to have an aneurysm if the crows win the flag, go right ahead. But stop screaming at people here to do the same, when most of us will just move on and focus on our team improving.

Agree , they were always going to bounce back. Interstate sides come back quicker than Vics

People think Nicks was Kens ‘understudy’. Which is bullshit - Nicks had to leave Alberton in order to work out how to coach. Crows pre 2020 were the ultimate boys club. Just like we are now.

Plus the assistants they’ve bought in are quality. Then 2024 they bought in a senior assistant from the premiership team

Meanwhile - at Alberton ‘right under our noses 🤓 we get - RiCHORDson, Lobe, Hartlett, Chaddy ect ect ect

It’s almost like you need to think about and plan for success rather than selling MORE Ken to the supporters every year

And GWS achieved more in that 1 year than looser Ken did in his entire existence at Port. Only needed one year to wash off the Ken stank.
I wouldn’t think kicking 3 goals in a grand final and losing by 15 goals is much of an achievement.
They also haven’t improved on that since.
Basically Port MK2 even with massive help from the AFL.

Looks like they will almost certainly finish top 2 unless Brisbane win out from here and crows lose to pies.

I think we need to come to terms with the facts they are a massive chance now, and they’re in the best form of any team over the last couple months.

We know too well that it can all go belly up in finals though. It’s a totally different beast. And grand finals even more so, just ask the swans.

You've missed Murray Davis moving from Brisbane to Adelaide as Director of Coaching at the end of 2024.

He would have been a handy get.

Of course we don't need such a role as we have the doyen of coaches.

Hawthorn: Lose GF in 1963, 7 years of no finals, flag in 1971.

Adelaide: Lose GF in 2017, 7 years of no finals, ??? in 2025

People get angry at me first when I barrack against the Crows so I've got every right to respond.
