Should be 6 but I bet he is given 4 weeks. If it were a pot player it would be 7.I’m going 4 but should be 5.
What’s your money on?

The AFL and consistency do not align.5 weeks would be the minimum, but there is also the fact that these penalties have increased over time. Fin got 3 largely because he was the first cab off the rank. Rankine should be 6.
' types and was barely aware of what has happened previously? To get a job as a journalist at Newscorp, you clearly have to have shit for brains!
Has Eddie McChins come out & had his say yet? Remembering he put Rioli to the sword.Even Brayden Maynard has called out Rankine's behaviour.

Pies star says AFL must 'stamp out' homophobic slurs amid Rankine probe
Collingwood vice-captain Brayden Maynard says homophobic slurs have "happened too often" as the league investigates an alleged remark made by Izak Rankine against the Magpies.www.abc.net.au
What does Snoop Dogg or his gangbang rap have anything to do with this?
There will be no Gf the crows aren't winning a cut throat final like a prelim or semi without rankine. Like us in 2002 we were top after the minor round but once we lost Wakelin our most important defender for the finals I knew the season was shot. Same scenario here. He’s not getting 5 weeks guys. 3 weeks, maaaaybe 4 if the AFL want to be seen as really harsh. But even 4 will leave the door open for a potential GF return.
I think even if that was the case surely clubs would have been reiterating it over and over again that it will no longer be tolerated.I just can't get over how incredibly dumb you'd have to be to be using these words at this point given how many players have already received lengthy suspensions for it.
The only thing I can think is that Rankine is one of those 'yeah man, I don't care about AFL, I watch NBA and NFL' types and was barely aware of what has happened previously?
Dittmar, Tex and Roo discussing on Triple M this morning how things were said to Izak Rankine first. Tone deaf…
this state sucks when the crows are winning. ****ing backwater hillbillies. Surprised they didn’t bring up Rioli again?Dittmar, Tex and Roo discussing on Triple M this morning how things were said to Izak Rankine first. Tone deaf…
Yeah Mali was piss poor actually. Put on his crows choir pants and sung to his crow loving media buddies.Dawson getting called out for not condemning homophobic language in his interview. All he said was "it's not ideal". Malinauskas too for not calling it out.
Rankine's bringing everyone down. The AFL will have to make an example of him and Adelaide.
His penalty should be inline with collard. No self report, apology after being outted.. can’t possibly be 4.. must he 5-6..The previous bans for homophobic slur;

Eagle banned for using homophobic slur
Jack Graham has admitted to using a homophobic slur during a match against GWSwww.afl.com.au
WEST Coast player Jack Graham has been suspended by the AFL for four matches for using a homophobic slur against an opponent. It said the incident was self-reported by Graham to his club, who reported it to the AFL on Friday morning, prompting an AFL integrity unit investigation. [13 July 2025]
Three AFL players were suspended for using homophobic slurs last season.
Gold Coast defender Wil Powell (five matches) and [May 2024 Powell made club officials aware of his comment during the match and offered his apology to the Brisbane Lions player during the game]
Port Adelaide forward Jeremy Finlayson (three) served bans over incidents in AFL matches. [April 2024 Finlayson, 28, apologised to the target of his slur post-match, and on Sunday made a formal apology, describing his words as "unacceptable". The League took his contrition into account when determining the penalty.]
St Kilda's Lance Collard served a six-match penalty for "unprompted and highly offensive" slurs towards two Williamstown players in a VFL game. [17 July 2024 Collard, 19, pleaded guilty to using the slurs during Sandringham's VFL clash with Williamstown on Saturday. He has since apologised to the Williamstown players involved, and to their club as a whole.]
Rankine didn't self report, and didn't apologise until after he was caught, so if AFL are consistent he gets 5 weeks, but who knows with Chook Lotto type interpretations by AFL.
