Haha, 20 outsiders? What team are you watching?

Tough/hard-working but unskilled players who played today:
Thomas
Logan
Cassisi
Pfeiffer
Kornes
Trengove
Jonas
Blee
P. Stewart

Outside players who played today:
Pearce
Rodan
Westhoff
Kornes disposal this year has been far improved on previous years.

As much as we want Thomas and Logan to be Wilsons, they will only ever be Poultons.

Seriously poults was twice the player he is. Yes poults was not the best player but he could read the play very well and make good decisions. His skills were not great, but he played 88 games when port was one of the best teams going around.

Fantastic point al you big crazy galoot. Poults was a plodder in a great side and managed 88 games at a time we were considered the best home and away side in the comp. Thomas and Logan wouldn't have made our list let alone 100 and 82 games each.

Interesting game.

For those people bashing Logan, Thomas etc. they need to get a reality check. We need a few of these tough nuts. I thought Logan in particular was quite good and won, or positively impacted on numerous contests. Thomas seemed to be a bit slow today.

What we need are tough blokes that can also impact the game. Being tough and being skillful or getting plenty of the ball arent mutally exclusive things. Wilbur was tough but was a ****ing great footballer. Ditto Pickett, Montgomery, James etc. Thomas & Logan arent in the same stratosphere.

Logans toughness is a false economy.

Boak - Thought he was pretty good for the first three quarters before disappearing in the last. One of the best overall though

Brad Ebert - Accumulated the ball quite easily and thought he used it quite well in the conditions. Did his job and probably best

Cornes - Did what he had to today and played well. Has played well all year. Hats off to him

Schulz - Dunno whats with the kicking yips but I love this man. That mark he took when he came storming in and got slammed was epic. Absolutely epic.

Wingard - I havent thought a lot of his year today and have been waiting a game where I go 'yep, hes got it'. This was it. Great game and had an undeniable impact when we were getting on top. His third quarter was ridiculously good

Westhoff - Better than average. Particularly good last half

Cassisi - Bit more forward movement than normal but thought once again he did nothing to lead the team. Very fumbly, sometimes very costly

Lobbe - Better than his normal output but for **** sake man take a ****ing mark.

Broadbent - Not a lot of the ball but 3 goals and seemed to make every disposal a winner. Love the 'ra

Carlile - Beaten by Brown, moved up forward in the last half for zero result

Logan - Falls over at the wrong time, dives on the ball when he should keep his feet, spoils teammates. Standard Logan

Thomas - Lots of brash attempts to break through tackles but in the end he just had zero impact at all on the game. Should play rugby really

Brett Ebert - Liked some of his work across half forward but really had to have more impact than he did.

Trengove - Actually thought he was pretty good again for the second week in a row. Thought he shut Brown out of it a bit more in the second half and defended strongly

Young - Good start to the game, good third quarter. Had some of his best moments of the year today

McCarthy - Sad just how far hes fallen throughout the year after such a promising start

P Stewart - Good start to the game but barely saw him at all after quarter time

Jonas - Defended strongly but really fell out of the game after half time. Had to do more

Pfeiffer - see Jonas but add about 8 dropped marks and costly fumbles

Rodan - 1 kick to half time. Thats why he doesnt get a game you facebook bellends

Pearce - Tried hard after coming on and won a bit of the ball.

Blee - Really not sure what the point of playing him was if we were going to sub him at half time

Too many unskilled plodders:

Logan
Thomas
Pfeiffer
McCarthy
Cassisi

Can't carry that many week in week out and expect to win.

Logan - Gone
Thomas - ??? Keep until a younger/better player develops or trade him
Pfeiffer - Keep on rookie list
McCarthy - Who ever decided to recruit this spud should have their contract terminated ASAP. We can not rebuild with recruiting like this.
Cassisi - Keep but replace as Captain.

Our coaching panel have little idea. They keep playing Mccarthy who is not an AFL footballer, Salopek's skills are so superior to his yet he has been unable to get a game for the whole year.

They use Pearce as sub... wtf. Believe he was told he made some defensive errors the previous week, ( and the rest of the team didn't!!!) yet he met his tackle and pressure attack targets, was our leading inside fifty and assists player. AFL site and many of our fans had him best or in the best. Then Hocking says in after match presser yesterday that he did not perform like they wanted him to in the last quarter. Well shit Hocking, you took him off the wing and put him in defence again. Just dumb comments from a dumb coach. If Pearce is not already looking for another club he will be now!

On a positive side Wingard played well and there is always next week :)

If that's why he was made sub then it's nuts. I thought it might have actually been the coaches showing some intelligence for a change and working around our fitness hole, by having a classy player with fresh legs who won't run out of puff in the 4th. Note to self, stay cynical.

our f..ny's started to point up when lobbe went to the bench in the last for extended time.{was he injured}? or just buggered ??

Confirmed by Gotch 20 minutes ago on 5AA.

Jonas - Defended strongly but really fell out of the game after half time. Had to do more

Very, very harsh. Rockliff is one of Brisbane's best players and Jonas ensured that he had zero impact on the game. Doesn't deserve at all to be rated alongside the liabilities Cassisi and Logan.

Thomas - ??? Keep until a younger/better player develops or trade him

Aaron Young's game today made Thomas obsolete. Young is Thomas but with decent skills. I'd rate Banner ahead of him too. Hopefully the new coach will.

And yet David Rodan continues to get a game. Our coaches live in a dream world completely devoid of reality.

Logans toughness is a false economy.

Agree that we need tough blokes that can also impact the game - but we don't have any. It's easy to say we need this, and we need that. Logan and Thomas are not keeping out any tough and skilled players. So we have to make do with what we have. Obviously if we had Wilbur and co, we'd much prefer them over Thomas and Logan.

Until we have some sort of alternative, these two have to stay in the team to offer some physical strength and tough attack on the ball etc. Our other midfielders are quite small with the exception of Ebert.

Logan did a lot of good things yesterday, and didn't really make any big mistakes apart from conceeding a 50m penalty. He was far from the worst. There was a few moments where his courage and toughness made a huge impact on the contest and stopped Brisbane from moving it further forward or scoring.

Thomas had a nothing game, but I wouldn't be dropping him for that.

Their skills aren't as bad as they are made out to be - it's just they are prone to making 2-3 bad skill error's every game that stand out in people's minds.
And as things stand right now, both Logan and Thomas have better skills than McCarthy and Pfeiffer.

Aaron Young's game today made Thomas obsolete. Young is Thomas but with decent skills. I'd rate Banner ahead of him too. Hopefully the new coach will.

That was the first time i've seen Young play like that. If he keeps it up, then perhaps you are right - but based on one game? And he needs to do some serious bulking up.

First, Cassisi and Kornes aren't unskilled. He may not have amazing skills, but they has solid skills.
Jonas does his job with minimal fuss, I haven't seen great skills from him, but haven't seen bad skills either.
Stewart doesn't seem to be too badly skilled either, he's kicking straight at goal, and usually hits a team mate with passes. See Cassisi.

Thomas and Logan have better skills than Pfeiffer. Based on current form, tehy have better skills than McCarthy too.

you are right

hocking IS an idiot
primus WAS a dud coach
the Match selection are more duds
Rodhe is another dud

EVERYthing, every single thing we have said about this club for the last 5 years happened

almost without exception, we here on the board have PRE seen what did happen. we forecast it, we saw it, we said it

and the pompous nobs at alberton just laughed as us "what would you know" :oh, is that what you think" "hmm, i;ll have to mention that to the committee" (ie run along little boy

EVERY balanced views about every player, was right
every summary of ins and outs, down to "who will" and then single match selection,
the incorrect use of wrong player in sub,
the moronacy (if its a word) in the way we played rucks and respond to other team selections
the way we play our and dont' play their loose men,
the predictability of rodan not being able to do more than 1/4 of a game (so just make him the 4th quarter sub- this is not hard to comprehend),
the stupidity of contract extensions
the utterly wasted trading and drafting- i mean seriously, renouf, pfeiffer, phillips, mccathy- seriously, wtf was that?
the refusal to consider salopek
not playing banner and young and jonas when they could have,
the annihilistic abomination and destruction of jacobs and oshea (wrong time, wrong positions, too long).
the fail that is westhoof and d stewart simply on refusal to committ and refusal to bulk up
Cameron Falloon.
Dom just being pathetic and captain backwards
Slipping over, and over, and over
our skills!!!!!!!!!!! i mean lack of
complete joke our (non existent) kick in structure is
sick joke of not knowing how to play ebert and schultz together- 2 players- brett, don't run in front of Sarge- I mean how hard can this be????

these are symptoms/ outcomes of bad coaches, unintelligent people, fools with egos larger than their talents, people unemployable elsewhere

many here DO know the club and players (overall) better than most of the jokers at alberton

You are 100% correct
Our coaching panel have little idea.
Hocking, is just dumb
and so on

sorry, they aren't that clever

all anyone can hope is that hocking didnt like the decision of the match selection and stumbled to find a retrospective justification

thats a win win anyway- 1) we can see how much of a dill hocking is. these games are great to see how he'll be out the door in 1 weeks time and didn't offer anything while here. he coached a kids team and thats all he had to bring. delist him

pearce- i love him but if we get a good offer take it
