How dirty are port? They are obviously 'head hunting' us - literally. Cowardly act by Primus. He should get 5 weeks. Nice little knee by the Cornes boy in the pack as well. They have taken out Fletcher as well. I hope the tribunal have a good long hard look at this game. I think I have a new most-hated team. Hello Port Adelaide.

We lifted early in that quarter and started getting the run through the midfield, but it broke down in the forward line - their forwards are kicking 'em and ours aren't getting a touch. Joey's being well negated. Otherwise, Kerr and Cousins are trying their guts out, but Port are tackling hard at every opportunity and the midfield is just being stifled as a result.

Burgoyne's spear tackle on Kerr was deadset ordinary.

faaaaark whats going on!!! i missed the first half cause i was out at dinner but it looks entirely bad news and it is seems we're lucky to be down by only 6 goals.

We can still very much win, but we must fly out of the blocks here.

Whats up with port they complain and they cant take it when they get headhunted but they seem to be able to dish it out to other teams and they think its alright.

- said that the Eagles were used to having big wins

Ah yes, a big mammoth **** you to the Fox commentary team. Port might have had half their team out - but by half time we had just as many of our team out. They were too tall for us were they? Well they head hunted our big men (and later on tried our smaller men who play bigger ie Jones). Of course we were bloody small by the end of the game.

1) Carroll (who until he was felled was our best defender - not that that says much). Should never have had to come back on.
2) Gardiner (if you can't beat him, beat him up).
3) Fletcher (nice one Port).
4) Jones (I'd say he'll be missing next week).

Not to mention Primus's nice little tap on Judd. Brisbane will be happy to see that. To Mark Williams - I wish the Bulldogs had beaten the absolute s*** out of you last week.

I can't believe we lost by so much.

I didn't get to see or hear most of the game (****ing melbourne radio ahhhhh!) but I did hear some of the last quarter and by then we were down by 59 points and it was too painful to listen.

What the hell happened? From what I've read Port weren't exactly friendly..

Port are a bunch of thugs, they will be about 4 port players (maybe even more) that will be having next week off

I can think off 4 incidents

1) Port player spear tackled kerr
2) Carr punched cousins before the opening bounce
3) cornes kneed carroll in the head
4) Primus took judd out behind play

also jones (concussion) and fletcher(back) also came off but i didnt watch the seond half so i dont no what happenend to them!!

Jones was cleaned up by friendly fire from David Haynes.
Cornes Knee on Carrol was an accident in the play.

I Didnt see ethier of them, but the carroll one I got the impression from what people where saying that it was pretty bad.

Believe it all not I did see some positives in the game.

I thought Glass, Cox and Sampi really wanted to play in the second half.

I swear Glass played the game of his life. This game could really have been a Career turning one for him.

Samoi was hard at it in the middle and down back.

I would also say that we positively need a strong defender. Nobody could even come close to containing Tredrea. He was too strong. The way they brought the ball forward there wasnt much the defence could do.

GO EAGLES!

My positives:
Our remaining 6 games are all winnable, with only the Geelong and Freo games posing any realistic danger. We are a decent chance of top 2, and very likely top 4. Unless we finish 3rd, we're not going to face an Adelaide side at AAMI stadium in an knockout final (due to MCG rule, and assuming I haven't missed something), and I'm pretty confident we can beat anyone at Subiaco or the MCG (Vic side or otherwise).

So yeah, the loss was a setback, but nothing that will dent our finals aspirations.

That's sooooo lame, whingeing about hard footy coming from a supporter of the club coached by JOHN WORSFOLD.

Port will have a couple out through suspension, but only because they are Port. If it was Essendon or Collingwood, none of it would even be an issue.

When you play the top side, a side with the likes of Primus, Cornes, Pickett, Carr etc, then injuries is what you're gonna get.
