I think I've had enough with pointing out the negatives from the game and the team as whole, its just getting me and everyone on this board more frustrated.

But, theres bound to be postives we can take out from the game. The problem is... is there any?

The only positves I could find from this game was:
a) Laidlaw was impressive for a first gamer
b) Schmidt backed up his good game from last week
c) Goodes gaining back some form
d) Some good signs in our forward line without Hall (that is, in the second half of the game)

Anything else??

The 2nd half as a general rule was a positive. The Swans beat Geelong in both the 3rd and 4th quarters. Again the Swans biggest problem is their starts. The first half was pitiful.

Also something i think the Swans should really work on is their contests. When there was atleast 4 people in a contest the Swans players had serious problems taking marks whereas the Geelong players didnt have that problem.

I've been very impressed with Schmidt in his few games this year, has Bevans place in the team covered in my opinion.

Great to see Goodes amounst the best again this week, good to finally see hi performing well even when the team isn't, played a big part in lifting us in the 2nd half.

Swans outplayed the Cats in the second half but we didn't deserve to win due to the fact that we were trailing by 6/7 goals!!!

Yes, that is a concern now that you've mentioned it. We hardly took any contested marks, but in the 3rd and 4th Q, we could take contested marks becuase we just pumped it long and kicked it straight to the forwards. It was quick, attacking footy which gave us another chance to just pinch it from the Cats.

MOL's juggling mark is always a spectacle.

1, Mathew Laidlaw (i know its been said but i want a go too)
2. Mal getting used to extra attention will only make him a better player.
3. The understanding that now our 2nd teir players can now stand up and lead the club forward.
4.The chance of seeing a couple of new players playing next week please..

They played a lot tougher than last week. I thought they fought back really well against a team who are first in everything bar the kitchen sink.

Geelong are in brilliant form. When that happens everything seems to fall in place.

Swans running game in the 2nd half really scared the heck out of the Cats, with the brilliance of Chapman, Ablett jnr proving the difference.

Newbies.. Laidlaw, Vogels and especially Schmidt are looking really good. Schmidt's got a great right boot and becoming a handy goal sneak.

After some thought, my emotions and frustration has disappeared and I'm able to reflect on the game more.

I actually thought the Swans played a much better game in the second half. Man-on-man and you could sense our intensity was up. We conceded less goals in the half, and 1%ers we witnessed a bit from the players really helped us to keep in touch with the Cats.

I'm proud of how the Swans played (minus the first half but we need to work on that), but overall, our basic skills errors have improved but we still need alot to work on.

I love Laidlaw. :) A first gamer was very impressive, it just makes you think that we should've brought more new blood into the team seeing it has been a positive input although we lost those games with the new gamers (i.e. Laidlaw and Jack).

The second half was a decent effort but it should be tempered by recognition that the Cats had practically no bench left and were probably out of run.

Laidlaw was a moderate positive - but he can do more. Hopefully he'll get a few games now and a chance to show what he's got in conditions more conducive to good football.

I thought that was possibly Schmidt's best game. Shame he couldn't nail a couple of those opportunities in the goal square. He had one more goal chance where he was running into an open goal but tried to lay the ball off (to O'Loughlin?) when he should just have kicked it himself. But overall I thought he won the ball well and made intelligent decisions with it. Would love to see him spend more time in the centre square. I think that's where we're going to see his true value. I'm sure we can all think of a player or two who spend a fair bit of time in there that we'd like to see rotated out.

we had a great second hald, our bloddy starts have been horrible, past couple of games we have given away match winning leads, collingwood, essendon and now geelong....needs to stop

1) Malceski's shirt coming off.. haha.

Yes. That was one positive thing for us girls. :D

I'm not sure if you were listening to MMM at that time but the commentators gave me a stitch from laughing.

'He bloody denuded him!, this game is becoming a bloody strip club'. LOL, he said more but i forgot the words but I had a good laugh for a while.
