I see Tim Notting and Scott Harding might both be looking to be traded, although Notting is 27 would be well worth a look as he played CHB for Brisbane for most of last year.
I liked the look of Scott Harding seems to have plenty of pace and likes taking players on a real excitement machine, we would definately have to be looking at someone like him considering his young age which i am guessing must be around 19 -20 and would fit in to our squad nicely.
Also McDonald is looking for a trade but again he is 27-28 years old although he could fill our ruck role for the next couple of years.
The other one is Richard Hadlee who was a good player before his knee injury, not sure how he is going at the moment but he is a hard nut in the middle that we could use and has good size at 190cm.
Some interesting prospects there, seems they are all jumping ship now, i bet Luke Power is sorry he didn't take the Carlton offer now, maybe we should try again.:thumbsu::D

No fringe players only, not wanted for our future.

Cheers

Brissie are cleaning out the old wood, and refreshing with youth........why would we take their discards, instead we should follow their example (and I think we are if recent statements by coach and president are any indication).

Would have a serious serious look at Hadley. Really rate this kid, although I think Brisbane would want a fair bit for him. Definitely should enquire during trade week next week. :thumbsu:

Forget Notting etc.. we should go after McGrath, he has pace, skill and is only 22 years old (I believe). He would be a much better addition to our team.

Maybe we could entice him to come and play with his brother?

Yeah I'm always impressed with Ash McGrath. He Would make a good half foward flanker with betts in a pocket. It'd be great if we could entice him into going into the PSD because as it looks right now there will be no worthwhile players to go for with our no.1 pick. Word is though that he wants to go back to WA so I don't like our chances.

Got any quotes to back that up with? It was a newspaper article with no sources. Harding has indicated he wants to stay (he is a Brisbane boy as well). The club has stood by Hadley for 2 long years while he has been injured so i doubt he would be going anywhere (considering they couldn't spell his name, i have my doubts). Hadley has also indicated he is champing at the bit to get back for round 1. And where did it say McDonald was looking for a trade?

How old is Hadley? Is he from Vic?

Age: 23
Victorian? No, he is from East Fremantle, WA

Missed last 2 seasons with knee reconstructions
Is a good midfielder for the future, up there with some of the Lions best, but is still developing. If you get him, he may not do a lot next season, as he is coming back from injury, but will be good in the future.
Played in a GF win, in his 4th game, so he is ok.

Opps, my mistake.

Geez that's really surprising. Didn't he ask to be traded?
In Brisbane every time a player is up for a contract renewal his agent talks to someone in the media about how much the player is missing home. The media dutifully run with it and help drive up how much it costs Brisbane to retain the player. Nothing new but we are seeing more of it this year with the money being tighter up there and players performance being looked at most closely.

On the players mentioned McDonald and Hadley are both quality players who if they can stay on the park can play at the highest level and fit right in. The problem is they both have had long term injuries. McGrath had a poor year but showed a lot in 2005 with 35 goals and a lot of endeavour. We are hoping it was just a down year with injuries and tighter marking and he will come back to his 2005 form given he is young. It was a toss up I think whether they offered Harding a roster spot and didn't try and keep him on the rookie list so I can't see that you would have that much interest in him. That being said he did improve a lot over the year and if he improves his skills and strength could be a very solid player.
