Yeah look at how we turned Tamblings career around.:p

Tambling was too old, we arrived too late. He had played over 100 games and had been at Richmond for 5 years getting his confidence destroyed. Toumpas has only played 18 in 2 years. There is still a chance to save his career.

It's hard to knock Aish I think he is only 19. Last year he averaged 17.6 disposals over 21 games. He won 2 premierships at Norwood as a teenager. At under 18's he had 86.7% kicking efficiency.

Don't agree,I thought he was quick not so convinced now. His worst trait is his indecisiveness, just doesn't react quicker enough. Always in two minds as to what to do and he gets caught. This isn't a problem with physical attributes he just makes poor decisions.
Is it confidence or he's a bad decision maker? He got drafted on the back of a couple of great SANFL games where he ran with the ball and took the game on. I was a fan at the time!
It was instinctive and fresh but in the AFL environment you need more than that. Teams work you out and try to take away your strengths.
Toumpas might be a good lad but he hasn't been able to adjust to the tempo of AFL football.

Blame Melb all you like but it's like the Jack Watts / Cale Morton situation. It's not always the clubs fault;high draft picks sometimes don't live up to expectations.(We've had enough...Angwin/Sellars)
The Crows don't have some magical formula to improve these players. That line got trotted out again and again with Tambling.."We'll improve him!" It's not always the case.
Now we'll hear it with Toumpas for the whole year.

Sure he's young but as a high draft pick the Demon's won't unload him cheaply.
We'll have to pay a fair price for him because he was a high pick but I wouldn't be prepared to even give away a second round pick for him.
Picks in the draft are like gold for our club due to the Tippett sanctions. We need to keep every pick we have for the next few years, giving away away one for a project is not IMO a good move.

Neither is swapping a player like Lyons for Toumpas. We need to keep our depth with blokes that will perform when called upon. Not hoping they'll come on.
As for being another Polec I can't see the comparison.
Polec always showed something;pace, elusiveness, great kicking skills. He may have had attitude problems (allegedly, though he did chose the Puffs) but he knew what to do with the ball when he got it. Don't see that at all with Toumpas.
I really can't see what he would bring to the team. Not a KPP, never been a midfielder, definitely not a back man and not a noted goal kicker.Perhaps a wingman, are we really desperate for that position?
We can most probably get Toumpas because he's an SA boy but I hope like hell it's done cheaply. Not a player I would be chasing hard.

What about s couple of possible cheap reclamation projects - Schoenmaker or Gorringe?

We tried for shoenmakers last year & hawks willing to trade but he wanted to stay.

Wouldn't rule out gorringe,

Yeah, there's reasons why we wouldn't take either.

Except we now have different staff and priorities - and talls, especially those that can play more than one position, could be increasingly valuable to us.

JJ and second for Aish and a third - then use that third to get one of these guys to replace JJ in the forward line.

Gorringe would really be the only option as we'd have to get a forward that can also ruck. But I can't see the club trading Jenkins

At the moment, imo jj is more valuable to us than aish.

Jj has only played 50 games. We all know he has alot to work on. But people 50 afl games. Sometimes we need to sit back and watch the sun shine. Oh and the power lost by 7 goals i feel so good right now.

I've always liked Mackay but not sure what to do with him as he is not playing well when he is talented enough to be one of our best players.

How many more years will he have after this season? It is 3 if I am remembering right? (Oh dear)

And

Would it be possible for someone to pick him up under his current salary?

Jake Carlisle is the one. And imo he will be the one. Along with aish.
Campbell's Chunky liked this.

I can't see Carlisle coming to Adelaide. Jeremy Howe though, might be interested for a good offer.

Were crying out for another kpp. Im optimistic about it and i think if we throw some good coin at him itl be hard to knock back especially if were sitting top 4.

He once said that Adelaide was just about his least favorite place on earth didn't he?

Think it was to holiday at.

Which is fair enough, if you're really not into nature and wine, Adelaide can come off as quite dull.
