Hill and lecras are ****ing down hill skiers. Lecras has merit for being a good player but josh hill is a bloke that has been shite for his whole career bar two season. drop the campaigner soon as rioli is ready.

Just **** 'em both off and play Venables as well.

Going to ground is a huge problem for the us, a huge problem. Every turn over was when players didn't keep their feet, Hawks almost never went to ground and if they did bounced up like a rubber ball and hit the contest again.

We go to ground at the lightest touch, see Hodge v Darling on the boundary line in the second qaurter. **** i'm over that campaigner btw

If you are going to play just one ruckman, wouldn't you be better off with Giles than Vardy?

You can always reflect on those things and I’m sure we will.
mcavoy played like he was nic nat and made vardy look like mcavoy.

Did you see McCoy's face after the Haw vs Geelong game last week? He looked like he had absolutely no idea what had happened to them or how to get of out of the rut they found themselves in. Makes you wonder if this is the same guy.

The small forward role lends itself to the 'downhill skiier' tag as it is a very difficult role to play when the side is not playing well. Very easy to be invisible.

Those calling out Redden today, wonder if they're the same who were praising his efforts last week vs Sydney?
What's wrong with that though? Player X plays a good game, receives deserved praise. The following week he goes back to playing at an E Grade Amateurs level (which in this case has been the rule more than the exception), and cops a lot of heat for it. Unfortunately he was bloody woeful today. He needs to be a lot more consistent.

You realise you guys will beat Freo next week in a cracker of a match.

The Eagles aren't that bad, I think the club doesn't prepare well enough for the G, you try treat it like a normal game, talk it down, make out its not a problem and then forget to bring your run, carry & intent.

Perhaps next time the club needs to make it a big deal instead of trying to sweep it under the carpet, hard questions need to be asked of those players who don't make an impact at the G compared to Subi. Maybe internally ask your players how bad do they want it.

The sun will come out next week though, West Coast are still a good team.

Haha. Nope.

Reality we need guys who can stand up when the heat goes on not just play zones and guard space see football get football pretty simple game, We looked scared to be honest and couldn't regain any momentum. If that doesn't change get we are going to be whipping away for the finish line without getting the chocolates.

Right time to vent
I am a one eyed, passionate West Coast supporter, but I genuinely don't enjoy watching us play any more.
Hurts a crap captain
LeCras is as soft as devondale butter and never turns up away when we need him too.
Kennedy missed three set shots that were all getable and set the loss up with that point to open proceedings
Masten was ******* useless in the 1st half when the game was on the line, finished off wish a few useless possessions, he is the epitome of the mediocrity that is our team.
Shuey has ******* turrets or something and just crumbles under pressure
Jetta didn't play tonight but is the laziest campaigner I know who gets probably $400,000 a year
Darlings set shot tonight FFS
Decision making in general, the players must be either poorly coached or in need of a shrink or both
Priddis is slow, struggles to kick past 40m and is apparently our star mid
I have never seen Simpson given a player a roast over a **** up, why not!!!
Wellingham decided he didn't want to play tonight, lazy campaigner!!!
I get so frustrated with our lack of aggression and mongrel out there, we don't have it and will not win a flag with this group.
I'm seeing and hearing so many eagles supporters (even die hard positive one's) say they are starting to lose faith in the club and lose interest in watching the team and are turning on some of the players. Surely through social media and word of mouth this type of feeling/information must get passed onto the eagles heirachy? They don't want to lose their fans if nothing else?

Or does the club just have it's head so deeply in the sand it doesn't see it/feel it? Or they just don't care?

I wonder if all the old timers with memberships respond to the club and say " Why should I pay more for a membership to watch a team I'm losing interest in and will only be witnessing failure?"

We should of known this was coming. Been playing poor all year and winning. This wasn't just about today. It's something that needed to happen. It's more then just forward problems right now. Our midfield didn't do shit yesterday. Backline is still ok. Thought Barrass did all he could and Nelson looks ok.

Problem is we have so many not up to skill to play at the top level. Spreading like cancer that even Shuey who's normally ever reliable was bad yesterday. Again we look very weak in the midfield. Simmo has a big job ahead of him.

When we get our rucks back and I'm hoping Willie Rioli is our saviour. We need a CHF because Darling isn't that and today again proved it. Just can't take a mark. All his goals come from the goal square easy dribble kicks.

Does anyone reckon Mitchell will give some players a bake over that effort? Like he is supposedly prone to do and the team probably needs?
Would love to know what his level of input was in regards to Hawthorn intelligence, and whether or not it was heeded.

During the game I imagined him sitting at home watching it and thinking "this is exactly the same as the past few outings at the G only it's Tom Mitchell and not me". How the **** can nothing have changed?

This game magnified our deficiencies of talent and structure because the psychology of the MCG has become a tangible thing now. The battle was almost lost at the start. We have a team full of slow, reactive, predictable ball users, with a bit of key position talent that dresses itself up reasonably well at home or against very weak opposition.

With the deeper pockets and wider wings at the G, our strong forward line should have plenty of room to stretch the opposition defence, but because we were put under pressure in the midfield we became predictable and JK got double, triple or sometimes quadruple teamed. This should not happen. The midfield is looking tired without a good Priddis performance. We lose the ground ball to such a significant degree that even semi-functional teams can put scoreboard pressure on.

Then, in an away game especially at the MCG, the adverse psychological predicament is reinforced.

The rapid pace of the game and fast unpredictable nature of the footy played by the likes of GWS, Adelaide and the Bulldogs (yeah they lost to Freo, but they'll be up there again when it matters) is looking further and further beyond this group.

Those teams are less predictable because they have more options throughout the midfield and more attacking flair off halfback, with a true flexibility that Simmo has only preached about in regards to the Eagles. They have more than a couple of players who can read the ball on the ground and pick it up cleanly. We struggle incredibly with this most fundamental facet of the game.

Can't help but see a dim short-term future with this club. There comes a point where you have to be realistic, and looking at the quality of the competition this year, this team is going nowhere in 2017.

Are all those bullish supporters who were so convinced we'll destroy Fremantle next week still around? Will be another tough game and we'll have to really earn the win, by which I mean we'll have to significantly improve.

-20 contested possession against a powerhouse midfield of Mitchell,Shiels,Smith,Hartung & Langford

Says it all really

Yup when you lose the contested possession count to bloody hawthorn you know you were soft and weak. The fact we did this and made them look quick again. Just wow. Insipid and heartless and this group is tainted with that now and wont find it easy to lose that tag. Bloody consistency of effort is all i crave

The number of times i saw players jogging along while their direct opponent ran hard and got involved in the play was staggering. Lecras and Darling were prime offenders from my recollection.

Normally I calm down after sleeping on it but I am still ropeable today. When Kennedy calls it quits we are going to fall off a cliff.
