Skippy playing well tonight has kinda stuffed up my team since I feel he is now too good to miss out on. I really want Judd but I really want a good back reserve eg. Collier. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Not completely sure but Van Berlo is injured isn't he? SJ and Fev are too inconsistent in SC for my liking but if you think they can improve then go for it. Pretty good team overall.

Great team there dude. Only things I would change would be Eagleton who is a bit iffy and Porps is on the injured list at the moment (dam shoulder operation) so that could not be a great move having him starting in round 1 either. Great upgrade option though for your 7th forward mid season. That's what I will be doing as I love the Porps!

Backline - Solid. Got a good mix there. Only one i'd be a bit worried about there is Hill and if Freo will play him, i think they will though

Mids - Personally im not a fan of Ablett this early, but i can see why alot of people are going with him. Cant say a bad word about Judd or Pendles. Griffen could improve into an SC Gun this year, so good pick there.

Rucks - Cox is a lock for everyone. McIntosh looked a bit rusty last week but he should get back into his 2007 form. If you're not too confident with him there's always Ottens for about 60K more

Forwards - My exact forward line. I cannot say anything against it

Overall very good team.

Then Upgrade Heath Shaw to a Sam Fisher type, 500,000+ player...

Leaves you with (for example) -
Newman (gun), Fisher (gun), Cornes (should go back to being a gun), Malceski (will improve barring injury), Houlihan (improve/make money), Dempsey (improve/make money barring injury), Raines (improve/make money)

I tried this but the sums didn't add up, a few $$ short so I added Ricky Pettard instead of Houlihan, added C Cornes and Sam Fisher then upgraded Pietre to Cox with the left over cash.

Is Pettard any good??

Mattys123, I wouldn't worry about Lucas, he's close to the Bombers best player, plays every game and the injury he copped last year was the first one for a long time. He was one of the first players I locked in. Not that I know much but at $300 odd K, he's worth every cent

do people think it is bad to have a midfield of

bartel, judd, foley, gibbs, r shaw and rich?

i think it may be better to downgrade a couple for cheaper players who should average 80 and go up in price to be straight swaps for guns in poor form. however, in supercoach i dont think the guns ever go down that much so if i downgraded foley for example, i would only be straight trading the downgrade for someone like him anyway during the season.

my upgrades will be

hill, raines, rich, higgins, ziebell, skipworth and have 2 other risky players in drummond and malceski

forwards are more likely to go down in price this year as their usually is a few that do and with the new rotating zone it should be more likely so the question is whether or not i should downgrade 1 or 2 midfielders and upgrade a backman or two?

The main problem with your midfield is you have R.Shaw. As long as Haselby's knee holds up he would be a much better option and you save yourself 60K. I think Masten, Reilly and even probably Morton and Swallow will more than likely do better than him as well for less.Shaw is a clanger master and there will be alot of players worth less who will do alot better than him imo.

I prefer to start with three good midfielders, but that doesn't mean it is right. But it seems to be easier to up grade cheap mids than anywhere else on the field as they seem to rise in price faster.

Backs; Almost the same as mine, except you have Drummond and I have Fisher, I can't fault that backline it is solid.

Centers; Nice picks with Selwood and Griffen, both set to break out in my opinion. Maybe downgrade one of Burgoyne or Thompson to possibly Hasleby and use the extra cash up forward.

Rucks; Solid.

Forwards; Using the extra cash from the midfield I'd give Fev the boot and try upgrade him to possibly Pav or Franklin or another premium forward to accompany Deledio.

Backs; They are nice, I had S Stevens but I'm not sure if he is worth his price tag. Hopefully Raines and Houlihan have big seasons or big starts anyway.

Centers; I reckon you should downgrade Cross to another mid priced player, put Higgins in the forward line as well, you will get better value down there. I'd think about Beams in reserves too, he has done some good things so far in NAB Cup.

Rucks; If you downgrade Cross you might be able to get Cox in the rucks.

Forwards; I'm liking the forward line, if you get Higgins down for possibly Riewoldt it will look nice. B Johnson is a risk but he has been decent early on so it might be worth a risk.

Your backs are good, full of improving players, but just to let u know, ellis is injured and probably wont play rd 1. Also, not sure about burgouyne, drummond would be a better choice.
Mids: all your big names are weak names. Davis wont go nearly as well this year as he did last year. I would mix around Richo, davis and cornes for j. selwood, sewel and gibbs.
good, strong ruck choice, but you might want to have stronger emergencies, ie tyrone vickery.
Strong forward line. Skipworth and higgins are good gets, but edwards is injured. And personally, i prefer to avoid buddy.

Backs; Nice backline there, Scotland is different but I think he is a good player and obviously you do too so nice choice, he dominated toward the end of last season so hopefully he keeps his form going. Bock was fantastic last year so hopefully he can maintain his form, I wouldn't mind him in my team at some stage this year.

Centers; I'd get rid of Dalziell, he is very expensive going up $400k in his 7 games last season. I would be looking for someone else who has been around a few seasons.

Rucks; Different choice in the reserves, will Vickery get many games? Hille will hopefully maintain his form and I have McIntosh so I as well as you hope he can get back his 07 form.

Forwards; Nice set up except Veszprem, a few people through the SC forum have hinted he might get limited game time so maybe go after Skipworth, should get 22 games and is 50k + cheaper.


And '1st Time SC' I don't think Cox will drop off to much this year, dominated last year on one leg so this year he should do real well. Clearly the best ruck in the league and SC.

Cheers mate! Will definetely do the higgens/ riewoldt move. But not sure on the cross/cox move. I prefer cross atm his just far to consistent to drop imo. S. Stevens i think he will have a great year, but BJ i still havent made my mind up. Might downgrade BJ an upgrade ottens to cox
