Thanks Mate. i thought that at the start about ablett but then decided to put him in anyway.
Think i'm going to keep him...he's being rested in the forward line and if i decide i want him in later it's probably going to take 2 trades, whereas if i have him and decide i dont want him at least i'll have spare money to trade in a rookie for a better player.
Any suggestions to trade yarran for? i'd have 170k to get someone else....
Alright changed it a bit. Don't be so harsh on me, I'm a complete newbie at it.
Out: Fletcher, Presti, Polo, McVeigh
In: Brown, Raines, Young, Gibbs
Let's hope my head isn't cut off this time.

Campbell. Don't have enough money for the Jonathan variety.young is alright...most people have raines...love gibbs
but which brown??
This is my team I am still tinkering with:
Backs:
Hodge, Adcock, Hunter, Malceski, Myers, Houlihan, Raines (Hill, Suban)
Mids:
K. Cornes, Cousins, Griffen, Cotchin, Hasleby, Masten (Rich, Beams)
Rucks:
Cox, Ottens (Currie, Graham)
Forwards:
Riewoldt, Pavlich, Didak, McKinley, J. Anthony, Higgins, Hentschel (Skipworth, Ziebell)
Comments?

not too bad a team cj4e. I'm not sure Hogan will play too much unless there are injuries. Maybe Grant instead? I like Spencer as a cash cow, he will play in the first half of the season.
Here is my team again - I posted it earlier without reading the guidelines on page 1 (my bad).It has taken a few edits to get to this team, but I'm fairly happy with it. Any comments would be appreciated
Gilbee, Bock, Cornes C, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Hurley, Rance)
Ablett (c), Bartel, Cornes K, Gibbs, Hasleby, Rich (Anthony, Robinson)
Cox, Tippett (Vickery, Spencer)
Pavlich, Deledio, Lovett, Rioli, McKinley, Higgins, Krakouer (Walker, Grant)
$9400 remaining
still undecided on Ablett vs Judd or Selwood, and upgrade Bock with the difference. Also what about Rioli vs Osborne as both are about the same price
Hentschel to start slowly?
You have got to be kidding right? Are you sure you have been following the NAB Cup and challenge games? He absolutely tore Sydney a new ar5e last weekend!
Well worth the gamble considering his low price.![]()
My latest side (names bolded indicate locked in for Rnd 1, barring injury):
Backs: Goddard, Fisher, Gilbee, Cornes, Malceski, Raines, Hill (Rance, Suban)
Mids: Ablett, Judd, Selwood, Gibbs, Hasleby, Rich (Anthony, Robinson)
Rucks: Ottens, McIntosh (Currie, Spencer)
Forwards: Pavlich, Deledio, Chapman, Richardson, Higgins, Krakouer, Ziebell (Brown, Walker)
I think it is a very strong side on paper, but I have a few issues with it:
1. Why does having Gilbee concern me so much? Ideally, I'd like to upgrade to Enright. Apart from that, rapt with the backline. Only change over the past six weeks has been Grimes out.
2. I see Ablett as a necessity, especially with the revelation that he'll be rested in the forward line this year. I can see him springing up with a couple of goals every game on top of his multitude of possies. The pricetag, however, leaves other areas of my team slightly lacking. Would a downgrade to Bartel be a problem?
3. Gone slightly cold on Mitch Robinson in the past few weeks? Is Dayne Beams a better option?
4. I've gone for a different ruck approach to the majority of people on here. I do not have the safe ruckman you can rely on so much, as Ottens and McIntosh are obviously both coming back from injury. Does this ruck lineup let the overall team down or does it have the potential to be my strongest point with a couple of upgrades?
5. Jacobs or Spencer?
6. Chapman's paper hamstrings scare me slightly. I'd like to think this is the biggest risk in my side. He is 90% locked in.
7. Richo, too old? I can see him carving up again this year, but still a little concerned. Again, probably 90% locked in.
8. The three cheap forwards is not pleasing to look at. I'm on board for Higgins, and I rate Ziebell, but I'm not completely sold on Krakouer. Veszpremi's injury effectively locks him in, as the next player I'd consider is over $100k more expensive.
9. Is Taylor Walker the best option for my forward-line bench?
OKay - this is my second attempt at a starting team ... Where you put the last $200k or just sit on it for trades?

If you emergencies are legit why none for your mids?(yes I know you cant have more than 3) High risk IMHO, having ruck emerg unless one of your rucks are doubtful
Like you said, I think having three fairly well researched 94k players ensures you of one playing each week (I would hope). It's obvious that the purpose of the trades is to upgrade Leuenberger and while I think Kruezer could average about 70-75 this year, I can't see the sense in trading out Bartel, even for someone like Selwood. Now my team.....

Ive been playing with a few combinations
Hill --> petrenko, Rich--->Anthony, Leuenberger ---> Mcintosh
Or
Bartel --> j Selwood, Leuenberger -->Kruezer, Yarran -->Ziebell

Heres my team, any feedback is more than welcome.
Backs - Goddard/Waite/CCornes/RClarke/Houlihan/Raiines/Hill - Suban/Rance
Mids - Ablett/Judd/Bartel/Cousins/Tuck/Skipworth - Robinson/Beams
Rucks - Hille/Leuenenberger - Jacobs/Spencer
Forwards - Franklin/Deledio/Fev/Giansira/Didak/Higgins/Yarran - Brown/Thorp
A little concerned with my backs though. Thinking maybe Adcock for waite and upgrade Raph Clarke. Any thoughts??

I think your thoughts are on the money!
DEF: Hodge, Goddard, C. Cornes, Adcock, Malceski, Raines, S. Hill (Suban, Dawson)
MID: Ablett, Bartel, Deledio, Selwood, Hasleby, Rich (Robinson, L. Anthony)
RUCK: Cox, Launberger (Spencer, Jacobs)
FWD: Harvey, Pavlich, Chapman, Houlihan, Higgins, Skipworth, Yarran (T. Walker, M.Brown)
CASH: $41,900
My midfield is eating a lot of cash, but I was hoping to nab those three top Cats from the start and just have them earning points from Round 1. It does however mean that my forward line is somewhat weak. I'll consider losing one of the Cats to upgrade one of those mid-tier forwards for a Buddy or someone, but I think Cox is locked in after some indecision!
Now my team.....
