Negatives:
Usual suspects went missing, or didn't even turn up in the first place. Tivendale kicks an inspirational goal in the first 40 seconds. What better way to stamp yourself on a game and then carry on with it. Nup. Not our Greg.
We expend so much energy on each goal. It's a real effort for us to score. Sydney struggled too but still managed to kick a few easy goals. We didn't.
PLSC is right when he says we should have drafted for a young ruckman. Didn't have to use a top pick for one, but a pick in the 30s or 40s would have been nice. Everitt was probably the difference in the end. Patto, honest goer that he is, probably won't be any more than that.
Polo. Had a stinker, but at least battled it out. Will be a good player for us over the journey but made some dumb decisions today. he wasn't alone.
Pettifer. needed to stamp himself on the game in the last quarter with a goal or two. Didn't. Dead set squibbed a contest in the 2nd quarter.
Johnson. Did he actually play?

Positives:
McGuane. rewind 12 months ago and Luke looked a rabbit caught in a spotlight. Fast forward 12 months and I reckon we've got something here. Courageous and not without a bit of ability. Can take a good overhead.
Polak. Thought his game was excellent.
Deledio. His run from half back got us back into the game in the 3rd quarter. Our best player by quite a long way. Why didn't Terry shift him into the middle in the last quarter when blind freddy realised we needed to kick four goals to win it?
Tambling. Showed glimpses of what he can do. needs to be perservered with and will be. Not sure he will become elite. Kicking is not good enough for an elite midfielder and will be starved of opportunities as a specialist forwared. At least took a major stride forward today.
Newman. has recovered nicely and contributed well today.

Just a mention on Kel Moore. OK, so he did a good job on O'Keefe, but jesus, how many mediocre run-with players can we afford to have on our list? if that's all he's going to be, then I've seen enough. Still don't think he's up to it. Harsh, but reality hurts sometimes.
Throw in Simmo, Browny and Thursty into that team and it's not as bad we think. We just need to be injury-free until we get some depth. At the moment the only depth we have is the deep end of the Punt Rd swimming pool.
I saw enough in the likes of McGuane, Lids and Bling today to suggest that maybe at the end of Terry's five years, the side will start bearing fruit. we are still along way off the pace. But I'm not as disappointed this week as I was last Sunday night.

Agree for the most part. Really wish we had of taken wood instead of Patto, but we gotta persevere for now. Polo wasnt that bad, a few mistakes but did an alright job on Goodes. Will be a star. Pettifer had some sort of injury problem didnt he?? Very harsh on Johno was very good in the second half, had a13 or 14 touches. Much better then last week.

Moore was good today. If his only talent is to be a run with player by then end of the year then we should definatley delist him. But let him get a good run in the seniors first. He could prove a very handy player.

Im no where near as disappointed as last week. Because we were hard at the ball, laid 20 odd more tackles then last week and genuenly looked like we wanted to win. Just ran out of gas at the end.

saw the game on the box over in the east. agree with you. johnson is not giving us anything really. poor decision making. th funny part was last week we went to sleep when we should have won and today we had it but could not sustain it. we just need more class on every line and better decision making

You guys might not want to hear this - I'm sure you're disappointed not to win that game and commiserations may rankled a bit. But I'd tread carefully...

I was very impressed by the Tigers today. You were behind the eight ball with no Simmonds but made up for it with your tackling and run. That is a good group of young midfielders that Wallace is developing - Hyde was particularly impressive. You just need to get more experience into the group, and maybe find one or two more true class players around the ground. But you'll worry most teams this year I suspect.

So you admit he did a good job on O'Keefe, but then say he's no good? I rate O'Keefe very highly and Moore pretty much kept him out of the game. He shows a lot of good signs, able to stop his man, but also athletic enough to be a part of this new backline we are building that run hard out of defence to generate attack. He'll be playing next week again and on merit.

Positives
Polak was bloody awesome today, very impressed with McGuane and Lids was good, Polo did an ok job Goodes.

Negatives
Polo's use of the ball was terrible, puts players under the pump with his handball.
Tambling was ordinary, atleast he kicked a few goals.
Joels defensive work in the midfield, was carved up by Malceski in the last quarter. We need to get youth into the midfield, not go back to our old ways.

thanks liz, always dissapointing to lose but its good to hear a bit of positive feedback for the tiges these days, we've been copping a fair whack from all and sundry about how pathetic we are the past few months. If we can maintain that type of run and intensity I dont think we'll be looking too bad, but it needs to be sustained. Decent brand of footy today

Positives

Lids - Single handedly got us back in the game with his run& carry and precise delivery of the ball. The kid is an absolute star
Polak - Cannot wait for this guy to be relieved of the ruck duties. He ran himself into the ground today and has really stood tall in the ruck, even though he isn't a ruckman.
Krak's tackling - This bloke is EASILY the best tackler in our club. For such a little bloke he just punishes anyone he can get his hands on.
Gaspar - Heavily criticised but was awesome today.
M & M's (Moore and McGuane) - Impressed by both their games today

Negatives

Rather than picking individual moments, i will sum up by saying our decision making KILLED us today.

Johnson - What is going on with him???

Overall a pleasing performance apart from the decision making. You can never be happy with a loss, but a 16 point loss where your players gave everything is better than a 100+ point loss when you know they just rolled over and gave up. :thumbsu:

lol at kraks tackling who gives a ****, a goal wouldnt hurt once in a while

lol at gaspars game yeh if you reckon he did a good job on a one legged hall then good for you but AGAIN was a liability with the ball and for a senior player is a disgrace

Positives:
Lids had an impact on the game. Not just getting touches when it was all said and done but actually helped turn the momentum our way in the 3rd quarter. Has less than 10 possies in the first help but 3rd quarter was very good.
Polo gave away plenty of experience to Goodes but was not embarrassed. Goodes got away a little in the third quarter but did not tear us apart like it was feared.
When Simmonds returns Polak will be very good across the Half Back line. Marked nearly everything that came near him. Will add steel to the backline in the future.
Our PRESSURE today was fantastic. We matched the Swans around the ball and I believe we beat them in hard ball gets which shows that we are improving in that area.
Brown and Simmonds are due back in the next week or two. They can only help improve the side.
When it looked like the Swans would blow us away early we fought to stay in the match and then took them on and beat them for 2 quarters.

Negatives:
Dumb decision making. At crucial times we made fundamental errors that cost us goals. Patto's kick to 3 Swans players in the second quarter. Howat being to Richo focused. Just 2 examples of such mistakes.

Lack of belief. We were at home against a team that are know for slow starts to the season and we let them get on top in the last quarter by going into our shells. When we took them on in the 2/3 quarters we scored 9 goals when we went into played tempo footy we scored 3. I don't think the fans would be upset if we played the way we did in the middle quarters if we are trying to attack and win the game.

Votes:
5. Polak
4. Lids
3. Hyde
2. Foley
1. McGuane

I give a ****, hence the reason i posted it you knob.

Whether or not Hall was on 1 leg is not in the equation. If you actually took the time to watch the game and not post total and utter rubbish, you too would have noticed that Gaspar played well

Geezus im getting a bit sick and tired of some of the crap posted on these boards. Some posters, PLSC and Polo_14 need to pull their heads in. Anyone who says the tigers didnt have a dip today is deluded. We played one of the most experienced sides in the comp today and ran with them for the whole game. We simply lacked experience and a little class in the end. Everitt practically didnt have an opponent today.

Polak is a really exciting addition to this lineup and pattison will get better.

Grow up some of you.

We played the last 2 years grand finalists FFS. i was expecting a belting and was rapt to get within three goals of these guys.

sydney were in gear 1 all game, they were their to be knocked off like always early in a season but "close enough is good enough"

its pathetic

no positves today only negatives

dont worry 2011 is your year haha

Gaspar had a reasonably good game for Gaspar, but compared to a quality league footballer he's just not good enough. Like PLSC said, an absolute liability (particularly with his disposal) - I cringed everytime he got the ball on the HBF and went to deliver.

Lynch harped on about it in the coverage but the **** disposal and delivery to the forward line basically lost it, the endeavour, hustle and what not was there. Looked good at 3/4 time, but couldn't capitilise on that momentum and flow early on in the 4th. Shame, I was going for the Tiges.

Beats 1954 or whenever it was....

I officially reckon Foley is a good player (I'm sure he's thrilled)

Polak has fantastic hands and Lids finally had a discernible impact on a game. We lost, so all for nought in some respects, but good signs and I'd like to see Joel released more often. Thought Polo tried hard

Thanks Dude, i've been waiting a long time for us to stamp our mark in the game and it seems like it's coming together, might not fully make it this year but i can see light for the future!!

Well CB, I tell you something, I'd rather have an exciting bunch of kids running around having a real dip rather than the 3 legged horses frawdley had wearing our jumper. Lids was fantastic today. How old is he? 19!!!! Yes 19!!! Bling ok and will get better. Polo did a good job on goodes, mcguane was great on okeefe, pattison did as best as he could in the ruck against 2 monsters, howat looks ok, foley is a ball magnet. All good signs. There's still a lot of work to be done to get these guys with 50 games to their name.

Reading some crap on these boards you'd think we're supposed to challenge for the flag this year.

We'll make a mess of collingwood next week. Mark my words. They're lining up for a belting against the eagles. Go take a look. They look awfull.

A positive for me today was Hyde. I've been critical of him only playing well against poorer opposition, but today he was one of our best against one of the top teams.

I knew the Moore comments woudl stir up more than the rest combined.
I rate O'Keefe too. Who wouldn't? One of the best medium sized forwards in the game. Possibly the best.
Moore did a great job on O'Keefe today. What I'm trying to say is that is that as a footballer, Moore is ordinary. He's not even good enough to be a run-with player. He was basically a stay-at-home backman today. Not even close to being good enough for going toe-to-toe with an elite midfielder. Don't even think about comparing him to Baker or Carr, who at least have the engines to keep up with anyone.
I'm just saying that there's a line from my home here in Barwon Heads to Ocean Grove for young footballers who are far better players than Moore and will offer at least some run and some ball carrying ability and if given the job, will probably be able to shut down an opposition player as well.
I hate clichés, but the proof will be in the pudding.

have a think about it PLSC, they only stayed in first gear because we pressured them and kept them there we wldnt allow them to hit a higher gear, thats why we came so close. krak could have kicked five and you still wouldnt b happy. in fact you would probably demand more tackles out of him. i saw ur post in the other thread about saying our season is over, if it is well then maybe take the rest of the year off from big footy so the rest of us can talk without ur negativity being a burden on us all.

your pathetic.
