Congrats

Rumour has it that the midfield group was invited to the big dance and only JPK showed up.

Have seen a few photos of Buddies wedding now. would be nice to see some of his team mates there. nothing so far.

Wouldn't hold your breath. Pretty sure it was a tiny wedding with no extended family (inc teammates). Pretty much as they've been talking about since they got engaged.

Come on, he was mates with Lewis and Roughy when he was young, single and just getting into the AFL system with guys his same age and experience. He would have formed really tight bonds with those guys. Since he moved to Syd, he's been in a long-term relationship. You don't spend as much time with your team-mates, nor have the same experiences, once you're in a relationship.

Lewis and Roughy will be his best mates for life. He'll have friends at Sydney, but the timing means they won't be nearly as close. If he's having a small, secret wedding, it's no surprise it was those guys going. It's no slight on Sydney, it's just the way life works out.

Goodes was there

So sad he is rarely sighted. I mean he does have a lot of things going on away from football, but would have been nice for him to pop up now and then offering an insight to a game or the club. But alas even flashing his face on the scorebaord at a game makes the meat sockets who watch our game froth.

One day when they make a movie about him when it comes to the footy bit the AFL will be severely embarrassed and they bloody well should.

even saw some halloween s**t on facebook directed at goodesy. Just leave the poor bloke be FFS

A lot of it seems to stem from Australias massive anti intellectual stance. The more people in respected roles or those who come from academic backgrounds who support him or have written articles condemning the behaviour, the more he is hated.

"*ing uppity w***er, walks around like a know it all like all those lefty latte sipping uppity campaigners"

We give America crap for racial discrimination but often just let it go domestically. It starts in private situations. It starts with the kids & young adults. It starts in casual conversations. It starts as a joke or as banter. It starts in pubs & clubs. It starts on local parks & courts across Australia. It starts at family dinner tables.

It stops with you.

Hi,

I'm inquiring if any Sydney Posters (On Big Footy), would be interested in putting a team (consisting of your 22 best posters) together, to interact and compete against a team of Fremantle Posters in a Virtual (Fantasy) Football Game sometime? (In the form of a thread on the Freo forum)

Rules about How to Play:
The Virtual Match works like a Word Association game, but instead of words, your aim as an individual poster, is to gain and keep possession of the 'football' and assist in the passage of play for the team, your username has been listed in. (Top 22, On Field and Interchange). (See below).

Preferably, the immediate post after yours, should also come from a poster who is also listed in the same team as you.

Otherwise if that ‘thread and chain of maintained possession to one team’ is interrupted by a post from a poster player representing the other team (see above), then it will be regarded as either a turn-over of possession to the opponent.

Or (in other words), the ball has been intercepted by the opponent.

Or a ‘Poster Umpire’ has stopped play to keep order in the match and issue an instruction to On Field Poster Players, or to confirm or deny scoring attempts, then announce the scores. (See below).

The first team to reach or exceed either: 60, 75, 90, or 120 points wins the game.

Virtual Field and Goal Umpires:
Only Posters (from both clubs) who have either, or are:

A) Joined Big Footy before 2010,
B) Posted at least 7000 posts,
C) A Forum Moderator
Are eligible to act as virtual umpires.
(Regardless of whether are a listed player, coach or not).

They will adjudicate in matters of: starting, stopping and/or resuming play, confirming and declaring scores, posting score updates. These include: bounces (or ball ups), when the ball goes out of bounds, throw ins, as well as awarding free kicks, 50 metre penalties and intervening in any melees.

The Awarding of Free Kicks and 50 Metre Penalties
by Poster Umpires, will be made to clubs instead of to individual poster players. (As a way of speeding up the progress of the game). Any poster player listed in the related team, can take the free kick or 50 metre penalty.

Interchange Poster Players
may not join ‘play’ in the game, until at least one third of maximum points has been scored by their team.

Male Poster Players are not permitted to use excessive force towards Female Poster Players.

There is no tribunal for rough conduct.
But be careful not to risk giving away free kicks, or 50 metre penalties to the other team.
